We are on the list, and as owed nothing. There again this relates to the New administration, whom I refused to do any work for.
However if I look on the Kroll list, the figure regards what they owe prior to Oct 1st is a long way out.

John.So on the strength of that then, BEWARE THIS MAY BE A SCAM!!
I guess this is not mandatory, and it looks like a way of the canine association of getting the last drop of blood. They are going to be a toothless hound in any case, as Capita are going to be the new body in the legislative side of gas work.
I was aware that the present incumbent would continue as a stationery supplier, but have they adopted the methodology of the internet directories scams.
If that is the case, I hope people give it a bit of thought before spending some money. I was suspicious with the “Register now & save £22” bit.
Looks like they may have made a dogs dinner out of it then!

I’ve received my “Application” letter from Gas Safe Register as well.
They want money, and will save me a bundle if I do it on line quickly.
Question?
If all is being handled by CAPITA as from April 1st 09, why do I need to pay anything to another body from the same town as Corgi who are hiding behind the logo of the H.S.E.
I am glad to see the back of the present incumbent along with their intransigence, arrogance and outright beligerance.
Would I be right in assuming I can tear this up?

Thanks for the replies, the man-flu one I’d seen before, but is very good.
The whisky, (With an H, no E and preferably single malt from an Island) has been considered, but my taste buds seem to have been forcibly extracted sometime in getting this malaise. It would be criminal not to be able to enjoy the tipple.
It is that bad, I’m even off the red wine, among the decent Pinotage etc we do have some Spanish Rioja which tends to be bland at the best of times, but even that had been left untouched.
I need to send this a birthday a card now as It was lurking last Monday morning, and is not getting any better yet.

I will be well impressed if you can get it to work.
It is very secure, and even if you load it into a new PC, will not allow you to progress without a log in code, only available from MFI extracare.

I have a daughter in Grasscroft, which is just off Oldham, and she sent me some piccies. Very pretty. Can’t be that bad if you can get hold of a copy of a daily paper.
We have had snow down here twice since the 1963 big freeze, I’m thinking if I get time on the weekend, I may mow the lawns.
We get it over Exmoor, and I remember once a customer from a Village in the middle of the moor phoned up and asked for same day service, he said “Can you call today, as I’m home because of the snow & I can’t get to work” Ruddy Hillbilly!

ParticipantRe: MFI Identiffier Parts Disc
Thanks Dave.
I do have some concerns as to the disk, a lot of parts we can still get through Smeg or Beko, and the hardest bit will be getting the part numbers as per the model number.

Under new company name, ……How do you know that? Not that I dispute what you say, but if he does resurface, I imagine will be in a new guise and in a different market.

Did anyone see last nights Watchdog? Mon 1st Dec.
They went into detail on the MFI situation, and apart from blaming the fabric of MFI itself, they did highlight among other things there were fitters who had not been paid.
The best was the cliffhanger at the end where thay said that someone important from within MFI was due to be in the studio, but cried off at the last minute. If you look at the body language of the presenters, it showed they may be aware there is more to it than they were prepared to let on.

I think I need to invest in a corporate phrase book, or maybe move into Network Marketing. I thought the 80’s were long gone!
Deoes anyone outside of Comet actually understand this gobbledegook? Moreover do they care? This reminds me of days I spent at meetings, seminars, think tanks and gawd knows what else, and no solutions ever reached, just a load of phraseology, rhetoric and no substance.
It is nice to be in with reality at times, and not work for a large organisation that is number driven.

Mark Ridler is on holiday until Mon 1st according to the message on his mobile. Spoke to another of the managers and he tells me it has all gone regards Extra-care. He confirmed the above regards the return of vans etc.
I suppose there is now a surfiet of engineers, and probably more in the way of managers.

Dave.Where the hell have you been? You have been missed!
Back to the subject in hand, we are getting phone calls now from customers that were booked for today for an MFI engineer, and they have got the drift that nobody is calling.
We have had a raft of D&G calls today, and one of them is where parts were ordered by the MFI tech, and we are starting again.
A few bits & pieces I suppose, might be able to off-load some spares.

I just wonder now what will happen to all those customers out there regards their warranties. I must assume there won’t be any as the appliances were “Badged”.
I know one thing, we will start to get calls from customers in year 1, and it will have to be C/Card up front every time. All the ones we have had over the last Month we have sent off to MFI as we refused ALL service work as from 10th October.

Spot on Sean.
Like you, I never allow lightning to strike twice.
Like you I wanted them to go seriously to the wall, and of course there would be casualties and innocent bystanders. There was a tinge of Smugness in my posting, but I was trying not to let it show.
I was hoping in the beginning that our colleagues out there would have seen last Month the days were numbered, and they were being taken for a ride, and not go any further with them. However it seems that has not been the case. Of course in retrospect they now realise it was not a good idea to plod on with them, but I must assume the MFI contract was big enough for them to take the risk, but as we all know the bigger it is, the harder the fall.
You know what it is Sean, we are both long in the tooth maybe, but due to experience we have a drawer full of Tee Shirts. Believe it or not, the bedroom furniture in my case actually came from MFI about 10 years ago.
Off to Wollies tomorrow to stock up on CD’s I suppose
