ParticipantRe: eastenders/corry
Well I don’t know why? Surely we are above that!
I have often browsed in the middle of an evening, and seems quite busy when these soaps are aired, especially when Strictly Come Dancing is on.
Last time I watched Corrie was when Valerie Barlow was electrocuted by a hair-dyer in the Summer of 1970. I had just come out of my apprenticeship as an electrician, and watched out of morbid curiosity.
On the subject of morbid; Eastenders must fill that criteria, what a morose programme. Forced to watch it in someone else’s home once. O.M.G.
Why do they never watch the news, or any telly come to that. Why don’t they own a washing machine, they all go the launderette. There will be a radio on in every house, but no DJ whittering on. How come so many of the Slater family can fit into that one two up two down. How may people live in that pub, and is it really the centre of the universe. On the subject, does the beer have a price, as all they do is pay up the exact change, and nobody ever asks for the amount due etc. Why do they NEVER mention current affairs, even the high fuel prices in the summer failed to get a mention, let alone the government or wars etc. 911 was unnoticed along with the death of the Queen mother.
And the burning Question, where’s Wellhard?
I only know all this thanks to Wogan
Gotto go Qi is on!

I see the point and never encourage any of my staff to point out that the poor old customer has bought some cheap rubbish. I guess by the time we get there, they have probably worked it out, and the last thing they want is a supercilious engineer telling them “I told you so” It is very unprofessional to do so, and it is not want the customer wants to hear. Some of us will remember that excellent training video by John Cleese & Jonathan Lynn, “Where did you buy this then”
Mind you, a certain poster telling a customer that they have checked out their local Chinese Takeaway with the suggestion to pass on a message regards quality of a Dishwasher, is none too clever either.
The customer has looked at a white box along with many other white boxes that look comparable and they don’t know nor care what is inside, or the pedigree of the product. They may have been influenced by a salesman on commission, or by the fact that “My Mum Had a Hotpoint/Hoover/Zanussi for years”.
Regretfully it is the nature of the beast, and we have to put up with it. We are living in a different culture than we did 25 years ago, but nobody will change anything.

helo_75, you’re missing a brew, some good scenery, a pleasant customer who wants to work with the engineers to solve the problem. Your loss
I’ve looked at the space issue again. Now I know how the unit door attaches to these machines (the Proline fitting I watched how it was done whereas the Whirlpool 3.5 years back was fitted whilst I was out. I now reckon any standard size machine abe to fit in a 600 mm space will fit.
Helo 75, I don’t think he has worked it out you may have been before. I May be wrong!

Top & Bottom elements only on that one. No fan except a plastic cooling fan in the top.

The spray arm will appear loose & cock-eyed. Add to that will lean and appear to hit the basket.
When the system is running and water is flowing under pressure, the spray arm will extend to its furthest point on travel on the mounting, and stay there. When you come along and spin it by hand with the door open, the arm is casually resting, and it makes no difference as is not in use at the time. Secondly will lean one way or the other depending on residual water inside, and even the position of the holes as drilled in the arm.
If the arm was a tight fit, would have a job to turn once it gets hot due to expansion.
Sounds like there is very little wrong

I guess he only has public access, and all this in the trade section. Therefore unless you’ve posted something derogatory in the public domain, you should be safe.
If it does hit a manger, then as long as he is streetwise, he will soon get the gist the guy is out of his tree.
Best of luck

I cannot believe I’ve just read a Scottish posting about Cricket. I thought Cricket in Scotland was as popular as the Scottish Tories.

ParticipantRe: MFI
Had this e-mail over the weekend. I’m only talking to him so I can see what he is up to.
Thanks for your time the other day and the support you have given me at MFI. I am looking at what I am going to do next and there are some interesting possibilities that I want to pursue.
In terms of the potential for future repair work, could you check the following details are correct and confirm back? Please include any amendments as necessary.
Best Regards

Isn’t Google wonderful
I can’t believe this and am wondering if it is a spoof website. I note at the end the bit about Wyevale, well they do sell fertiliser.

All I saw from Robbra was that he has supposedly been paid? He’s a simple Dorset lad, probably doesn’t know any better.
You mention GDA, is that right as in Peterborough, or do you mean GDH as in Glen Dimplex. Ether way, would not have worked.
I think Teka has a bad enough name no get nowhere in any case. I always had trouble getting paid, but they have lasted longer than I expected!

And had I been paid anything ,sadly he confirmed there is no chance of money from Kroll .
Said he had irons in the fire and had been keyholding Norwich for the administrators and could he speak to me in future .
LawrenceDitto…
Just had the same conversation, and he waxed lyrical regards the parts supply, and hoped I would carry on and use the new regime. He is hoping to speak to me again soon, and we can set up a rapport.
We shall see.

UPDATE:- A pity this had come from Basingstoke, as immediately I leapt to the conclusion that a kennel was being shared. Not the case.
I picked up the phone to Capita earlier today, and they transferred me internally to an operative within the gas Safe Register Scheme. He assures me they are a body run by the DTI who are in place to assist the transition from the present regime to Capita. He did however agree that the “Image” and address location has given them a few headaches.
The 3 links may be of use, the last one is very useful as it gives a timetable on the last page, as well as a potted history.

My figure does not include the sums they said they paid in August & September, but failed to hit the bank account. They seem to have contra’d mine against purchases, but not easy to reconcile as I returned all invoices sent as from 1st October telling them to stuff it.
The following says it all really, and we think we have something to complain about!
