O.K. put me in for some of the blame as well.
A couple of us Friday night were mulling over a glass of something mellow as to whom he may be. It was becoming a bit of a game, we had some prime suspects, but then started to eliminate them from our enquiries.
We went round in circles and got nowhere. To be honest, it would be a shame if we drove him underground.
As Martin said, CASE CLOSED.

excellent meeting and also excellent night on friday, everytime i see cher on tv now i’ll have a chuckle 😆 😆Problem is, you didn’t introduce yourself, well if you did I missed it. Never mind.
It was a good rewarding couple of days, and yes we are going from strength to strength and out-growing the venue. I will have a think, there are plenty more locations I know of, it is just finding one with a late bar, good food, a conference room and good value for money. A central location helps as well, however Greater Manchester is not unreasonable.
I can suggest one at Ilkeston, Derbyshire, or how about the one D&G use for the Karting at PKI just outside Grantham? There is one at Tormarton just north of the Bath M4 turning, then the ladies can have a day in historic Bath. They will love it.
It was suggested we move around the country a bit, this will encapsulate a few more new faces perhaps. All food for thought. Will work on it when I get back from Italy.
I have to say the staff at Sibson have been very good. You never know after the refurb; they may be able to keep us all accommodated in the future.

Few missing notorieties though.
Pity Roy Fisher etc. was on a jolly, Steve Clarke had family reasons which is excusable. No MFI, CDA etc.
Never mind, word will get out. I never made the phone call to Dave Parker, how remiss of me

Assume you mean this?
2. All Members should adhere to current Health & Safety requirements as stipulated in law.
The above is tucked in section 4 but I don’t think it is embracing enough. The fact someone found a slight omission within 5 minutes of my presentation, highlights the need perhaps.

One of the delegates at the Sibson meeting pointed out he was unable to find mention of electrical safety testing on completion of work. He highlighted to me paragraph 5 of section 4 and felt that was the best place to address this point.
5. After repairs the appliance is checked for function (specification test) and that it is in a safe condition for the customer to use
I must admit, it slipped past me.
Can we add onto the download version, and all subsequent print of requests a supplement to cover this. Maybe as follows….
5. After repairs the appliance is checked for function (specification test) and that it is in a safe condition for the customer to use. In addition all electrical safety tests to be carried out and results to be documented. Any failure regards electrical safety to be fully investigated and remedial action to be taken place on the product if applicable. Any failure due to the installation should be pointed out to the end user, notes made and all paperwork to be endorsed accordingly. If necessary, the circuit to be isolated and notice issued to that effect.Alex

No problem, What part of the world are from?
Take a look at Repairs at on the left hand side of the front page. Might be able to find one of us who can get this fixed for you.

ParticipantRe: Thomson local are they any good
Thomson, waste of money.
Yellow pages, better, but after spending £6,000 p.a. then finding that we had as many calls from the areas that my local Y.P. did not reach, I questioned the value. Therefore after some research and number crunching, reduced the ads.
I downsized to less than £2,000 p.a. and there is no difference at all. But I do like to pay the premium for my Web link. Tracking back, my website gets quite few through Yell.com
Might reduce it even more next year, sales rep is due in a month or so.

An absolute Joke.
Avoid Junction 8 of M6. Will pay to take the new toll road and cut across to join the M42 just south of Litchfield
Have you considered either Woodhead Pass to Sheffield, down M1 leave at Castle Donnington just below Nottingham to A42. Turn left at A5 near Tamworth. Or maybe M62 & Down M1. I Find Woodhead pass is quicker from Hyde to Bristol. But to be honest the best way is the M6 Toll from Cannock.

Shot in the dark.
Sink was blocked, customer used a plunger to force out the blockage, waste hose connected to drain stub under sink, blockage stronger than the eco ball system, etc. etc.
I didn’t want the drink in any case.

ParticipantRe: UKW CHARTER (amendments)
regards the presentation.
I have 2 versions, 1 by Del which is hell of a long, and one abridged by Ken.
I have taken the Del one and treaked it a little bit, and taken out the whole of the Charter content. I have also put a bit of Kens work into this version, and IMO it looks good.
With the Ken Version, I’ve dotted a few tees etc, and removed a duplicate that was a contradiction.
Tomorrow, or maybe tonight if I get time, I will send all of you my copy of each version, have a look and tell me which one you prefer me to use.
Been a silly day today as the little tow rag that was handling my spares dept failed to show, got another job and decided not to work out his months notice. He’s in far an expensive surprise soon.

But I won’t lie for any company, including my own, about their products to a customer or the trade, you get my honest opinion and I think that is respected far more than the odd freebie.
K.
Nor would I expect my guys to lie.
They are fully aware of the quality of P&G products over and above the main competitor, and the training reinforced this point. To be frank, my engineers did not need persuading, they know they are endorsing a good product, and that it works.
The trainer done a darn good job, even though he was preaching to the converted. Despite their years of product awareness, they listened intently and recognised that they have had a very close association with an excellent range of goods.
My team of engineers are a trifle disillusioned that after 13 years of promoting the product; and not abusing the generosity of P&G that they no longer get any benefit of the support that they previously enjoyed. Now this has come to an inevitable conclusion, it is a shame that those who are out there promoting this are no longer rewarded.
I’m not suggesting “payolla” but a small reward would not be too bad a thing I’m sure. All in all, it was good seminar, it was unfortunate that it clashed with the time that in their eyes they appear to have lost the support of the company they have been asked to promote.
Please don’t read this as a negative posting, on the contrary. The training session was very well received, the rapport was good in the training room this morning; and in fact despite the fact the techs all had a busy day, they listened, took it all in and extended the training time themselves.
Training and product awareness is the way forward, and on the strength of the product we need to move forward. My postings are merely a reflection of the sentiments I felt from within my building prior to the training session.

ParticipantRe: Zanussi DW925 – No water, wont work!!!!
Funny that, 2 of you with the same fault on the same series d/washer came in within a minute.
In both cases it sounds like the water valve has “locked out”.
Quick fix.. 1) Turn off the tap/water supply. 2) Unscrew the hose to release the water pressure. 3) Give the water inlet valve at the lower rear of the machine where the hose is connected a sharp tap with the handle of a screwdriver. That will release the shut off.
Now you need to investigate the reason why.
1) Remove the large filter inside the D/Washer. 2) Look at about 4 o-clock and you will see a semi transparent cap held on with a single stainless screw. 3) Remove this cap and pull out the 2 syphons, 1 at a time. 4) Shake out any excess water and clean any grease form the syphon. 5) Put it back together, reconnect the inlet hose and give it a run on rinse and hold. (Prog D) 6) If no joy, then go to repairs @, you have done your best.
That was a good range of D/Washer and worth keeping running.
