ParticipantI wonder how you would have dealt with a customer pushing their “CONSUMER RIGHTS” against you not being able to supply parts even though they’re not available, as they are pushing their “RIGHTS” against PAT-UK for not moving “HEAVEN AND EARTH” in the “COST OF DEALING WITH THE PUBLIC” and SALE OF GOODS ACT MEETS MAD CUSTOMER” threads.
Scary thought but evidently not an impossibility

“All is revealed with the wisdom of a Technical manual. The trouble is F&P in their infinite wisdom won’t release it in case I fry myself.
Totally counter productive as I am more likely to fry something prodding around without a manual ! I guess they are trying to look after their agents.” unquoteFisher & Paykel, like UKWhitegoods and I, have a duty of care which is forced upon them by Acts of Parliament as well as Common Law. Should you fry yourself, these legislative powers will investigate our involvement and we would be held accountable/responsible should we have indicated to you you how to proceed. Should you never the less proceed against any specific and included disclaimers, and subsequently only fry a part in the machine, then we breath a collective sigh of relief as this only proves that you didn’t understand what you were doing and how close you came to frying yourself. For this reason we will do everything to assist you short of advising you to take a tool to the machine.
UKWhitegood, for which I am not a spokesperson, have specific disclaimers. I specifically advise you not to take a tool to the machine. Many electrical parts used to be cliplocked together. The reason why machines require a tool, and sometimes a specific security type of tool to access the parts is to prove in a court of law that you willingly ventured forth and in fact pursued and secured additional devices in your headlong rush to proceed/succeed in dismantling.
I personally will never leave a machine dissassembled for others to tinker with and will cut the power cord off any machine which is in an unsafe condition
Not supplying you with a Technical Manual or knowledge on how to dismantle and replace parts is not to look after the manufacturer, any agents, no anyones revenue stream, but is solely for legal reasons.
The other reason UKwhitegoods and I won’t release their Manual is because of further Acts of Parliament, specifically the Copyright Act. We have no rights to publish their manuals and would suffer catastrophic financial loss should we do so and are litigated against.
I know of no F&P agents on this website.
Should you have responded to my previous post I would have privately messaged you parts of the manual under “Fair Use” sections of the Copyright Act. These parts of the manual are as a Jpeg file, are of poor quality, and are incomplete in an effort to help you as much as possible without running foul of the law
I, as an individual with a save the planet mindset ,are specifically against the policies of some of the manufacturers and would have done everything in my power to avoid you having to use the Manufacturer, their agent, or any other unneccessary resources (including paying others) in order to repair you machine. I would have also advised you against the economics of specific repairs as I did not have a vested interest in your spending your money. This I believe is one of the very reasons for this website.
“We all like to help you as much as possible within the confines of the law.”The machine alerts the user to a problem by two methods
1/. A machine fault is displayed by an unusual combination of LEDS in the wash progress LEDS and a continuous beeping sound every second.
2/. A user fault by an unusual combination of LEDS in the programming LEDS and a rippling series of beeps every 6 seconds
These warnings are outlined in your user manual.
In short, we wish we could do more to assist you in the use and care of your machine.
My advice is that you, at a minimum, fit a surge protector device at your power outlet, or more importantly, that you switch the power and water off when not in use.

ParticipantHere in vegemite.com.au.land it has to align with your business or personal name now.

Yeh right
Nah just kidding
If your “married”, “which is a credit to partner considering the extended time you give to this enterprise”, (if I give it any more Capt’n the whole goddam things gonna blow (Scotty Starship Enterprise)). No reflection on your personal life, just an antipodean tilt at humour (is that with an o, a, u, or both) as my better half has just made another envious comment about chatting with me mates, then maybe you should be given the Tee-shirt with the Dominatrix (tricks?) saying “You’ve been a bad boy go to my room.
No just keep up the bloody good work

My guess was that the filtering of the powersupply to the CPU controller was starting to deteriorate and that the power surges to the triacs was affecting the logic of the controller. I also noticed that the machine would occasionally step backwards from spin to the rinse cycle.Do you mean you have a broken stator?
An inspection is required to confirm this problem.
Please advise if this is so, else give me your fax or email no. and I’ll send you the diagnostics. When you have a fault code I’ll send you the reasons although these are only indicators.
Re-rinses can be many things so a fault code is required to assess the most likely causes however
if the electronics are faulty they can give you faulty fault codes
(Nah just a bit of Fawlty Towers jokes thrown in Basil). In other words the fault codes can fail to indicate the true problem (Manuel get up off the floor you idiot)so the end result on re-rinsing can ultimately be a motor module. If you order a new module 99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} it will be a module reconditioned by F&P so a independants reworked module is usually a cheaper choice though usually with 1/2 the warranty @ 6 months
(P.S. dont mention the war especially Gallipolli, the UK mob are intercepting this transmission)

ParticipantA New Zealander, and a sheep, were survivors of a terrible shipwreck, and found themselves stranded on a desert island with a penguin.
After being there for a while, they all got into the habit of going to the beach every evening to watch the sun go down.
One particular evening, the sky was red with beautiful cirrus clouds, the breeze was warm and gentle. A perfect night for romance.
Soon, he leaned over to the sheep and put his arm around it.
But the penguin got jealous, flapping, spitting fiercely, and frothing, until the Kiwi took his arm from around the sheep.
After that, the three of them continued to enjoy the sunsets together but there was no more cuddling.
A few weeks passed, and lo and behold, there was another shipwreck.
The only survivor was a beautiful young woman, the most beautiful the Kiwi had ever seen.
It was another beautiful evening, red sky, cirrus clouds, a warm and gentle breeze. Perfect for a night of romance.
Pretty soon, the Kiwi started to get “those feelings” again.
He fought them as long as he could, but he finally gave in and leaned over to the young woman, cautiously and whispered in her ear …
“Would you mind taking the penguin for a walk?”

I noted with interest your comments on the new 3 phase motor. Jimboxxx has also commented on this in another post. I would be really interested to learn more of this if yourself or anybody has any info.Think of the little dc brushless fan motors (basically an induction motor) where rotation is achieved by electronically pulsing the poles (usually at a fixed rate) to achieve rotation rather than 50 cycles (hertz) alternating current pulsing the poles (at a fixed rate) to achieve rotation
The 3 phase dc brushless motors are exactly the same as the small dc brushless except that the rotation speed is varied by the electronics in the controller which (unlike the small dc brushless) are external/remote from the motor
Also good as a stepper motor, and also good for electronic braking

ParticipantQuote “No one can venture upon business activities without at least a general grounding in the law”
I personally think that your priority should be to employ a business manager to further UKwhitegoods interests along so many of the lines that are mooted in so many of the threads
Insurance, Puchasing power, Consumer issues, WEEE, New Sales, CORGI, Consumer complaints, Spares, Repair@ etc etc
This person would also bring a cohesiveness instead of what appears to me to be a rambling association
It is my belief that how to run a business is more important than what the business does.
Membership should also be offered to those “Cowboys” so that the whole industry is not affected by the “rogue traders”
Savings on insurance could be used to fund such a position as well as purchasing power dividends
Or at the least a manager could provide PAT-UK with the support he needs with his current consumer issue

ParticipantYou have to write to her and trading standards
You have to tear every bit of her argument apart
You have to send her an inflated counterclaim including time in preparation of your letters and charges for your work
You have to point ot to her that she cancelled your verbal contract
You have to point out to her that you didn’t make it and you didn’t break it
You have to point out to her that she has to pay someone for repairing her machine – and that person is not you – you should cynically offer to send her invoice to the manufacturer and reseller insurer if she’d care to provide those details
You should tie her up with requests and you should invite her to sue stating that no court in the land would make you or any other stranger pay for her repairs
You statement “so I can validate your claim” is questionable however I would include that “in no way can you validate her claim”
The more language you can include the less chance she will take you to court so you should cut her off at the pass with a thoroughly researched letter and threat of a counterclaim.
Will write a short thread in training to conclude my thoughts
