Hoovering the dust out could solve your problem.

If a Fridge/freezer can’t get rid of the heat the it won’t cool efficiently or properly, can stop the unit intermittently and even cause the unit to fail altogether.

No cooling fan near the compressor will also cause exactly the same fault

A worthwhile investment in power saving is to clean all surfaces and dust off a unit annually

    Power off though

    Re: Welcome Alexa

Yeah Yeah I know I prattle on but I’m after feedback on the level of support I give the general public

    I won’t do a poll but:

    A/. Too much

    B/. Too little

    C/. Just right

    D/. Be more careful

E/. Your should only be encouraging them to contact repairs@ (UK customers)

Everybody has an agenda and being a bit thick I may have only picked up on some of what I think are yours (all admired if I read things right) so a PM or a Post to assist in this regard but only if you think I’m off base, have got it wrong, or need to know, or the story from day1 if you want me to draw my own conclusions.

The problem is unlikely to rectify itself

You can avoid losing goodies by:

    1/. Wrapping goodies in Newspapers

2/. Placing goodies in Chilly bin, esky, etc

3/. Placing goodies in laundry tub with ice

By all means a tub of hot water would speed up the process. A fan heater would be quicker but be careful of plastic melting. Open doors are mandatory. And the fan heater option is definitely only to be used with all the safety gear. Do not use a hair dryer, a hot air gun or any other hand held device.
The heater should not be held nor should you put it in the freezer but on a shelf/cabinet at the entrance to the freezer. Do not leave unattended!!!

You can tell when all ice has been melted by the drain no longer having water dripping in it.

As soon as you are satisfied with the defrost you can turn the machine back on to test if you were successful

You can immediately reload the goodies

Do not attempt to remove the back panel as you could easily cause the machine major if not terminal damage.

If the problem persists an engineers visit is the only option

    Re: Welcome Alexa

Just when I have read everything on UKW you go and give me access to this forum.

Hope I didn’t make you all cringe too much when I was out in never never land. Just felt that I could go throw buckets with gay abandon.

My slightly more circumspect posting have already become the order of the day
I’ve read everything here in case you thought “woops”
So there’s no going back now

Just a couple of comments which I hope are in context

    1/. Personalities

Great to see the gloves come off. I already had a fair take on your various personalities and love the ringside seat.
There were times I could see the stuff flying across my screen and was truly grimacing and sometimes ducking. Scary stuff though.

    2/. Promotion

A good little post as a feel good news topic to the media would be

    http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … pic&t=6148

    3/. Search engines

Came across your site by accident and it doesn’t feature in any of my normal searches

4/. Members dropping off (Welcome Mat Forum)

Monthly PM’s would be in order?

    5/. Training

I would have thought that there would be a wealth of manufacturers manuals that could be obtained from members so the wheel doesn’t need to be re-invented totally
(I’m going to do a check with our copyright council as to extent of republishing mine)

6/. And I was going to nominate Rudi for Manager

If you need any grunt work done or help in any way don’t hesitate to ask

I’ll subscribe when the workload lightens up, if that’s al-right. (just when I thought there was nothing more to read)

There are hundreds of fault codes and the manual is copyrighted so under fair use policy I can only copy individual pages not the whole manual.

Level 3 fault code is the one of interest and it is a pump block error.

    Care? Hell yes I care
I care so much it brings tears to my eyes

    In Affectionate Remembrance
    of
    E N G L I S H C R I C K E T,
    which died at the Oval
    on
    29th A U G U S T, 1882,
Deeply lamented by a large circle of
    sorrowing friends and acquaintances
    R.I.P.
N.B. – The body will be cremated and
    the ashes taken to Australia.

I care also about Shane Warne
His phone bills must be terribly expensive

I care also about the bowling methods
Underarm just doesn’t seem to cut it

    That trashy enough? :rotl:

A “Lady” having to use a brush and pan half a dozen times in an attempt to pick up “some” of the rat poo all over the top and behind the fridge. She fed her pets inside hence the rats and the bench was covered with waste food shopping plastic cans etc etc.

A rat looking at you from under a dishwasher with base full of water.

The stomach renching stench from months of water sitting on the floor in a laundry where ferrets lived along with boxes, washing, dog food etc etc

A “gentleman who just couldn’t bear to throw out the newspapers, brochures etc. He had to clear a huge pile just so I could open the door 85 degrees. Had to get him to call us back when we could get to pull the fridge out. The garage was the same.

Having to remove a dishwasher many years ago that was recessed into the floor approx 50mm just so it could fit under the hotplates recessed into the bench top.

Having to use a block and tackle to hall a large side x side up a flight of stairs.

Having to clear the pump of rubbery things and sharps at the brothels

Simply now walk away from any job that is likely to cause health and safety issues or logistical nightmares
