No, you can dismiss an employee for “gross misconduct” without going through that process.

ParticipantRe: Whirlpool Freezer Compressor
Hi Bob…
Someone has requested a purchase of one.
The only note to me is the request for a ‘New Motor’ and as far as I am concerned they are referring to the compressor. They just say it has a fault.
I would love to be able to do them myself… but as yet I do not have the required skills.

Thankyou to the Mods of this wonderful site for removing the information requested ;
_________________________________________________________Now can we get this back on track please..
I feel that the image and the action where there not for scrutiny of what the action was, but just that the action was an inappropriate action for a member of a group who profess to be above all in their manners and integrity. Alike, the image was not there to endeavour to identify the individual assailant personally, or to create any discord or reprisals for the actual assailant; the point of the imagewas to show the evident 08oo identification and the action.
I consider a repremand for the action quite enough punishment. If the 08oo employee or franchiser (whichever it may be) has been removed from the 08oo list then I consider that action to be excessive and depending on the circumstances, possibly against UK employment law (Conduct unbecoming).
The question that Funkyboogy made was a very pertinant one to the subject matter of this thread:
was the guy franchise or contractor ?
Another very pertinant is also a very pertinant one to the subject matter of this thread is the point that the action in the photograph should bring into question and immediately override the website reported demenor of the company employees / contractors / franchisees, in that one of the original complaints was regarding the structure and content of the website and the message given out therein.
No embellishments can be made of the photographic evidence by anyone here, Funkboogy is correct in saying that the camera does not lie.. the only embellishments to the evidence is the fact that (if reports are truth) the assailant has been removed from his employment.. If this is a correct report then it just infers that 08oo higherarchy got a little upset at his actions.. far more upset than did I.

Stratfordgirl I am not probing for details, nor am I trying to humiliate the guy .. If he has lost his job over this then I think that an unruley decision that has been made by 08oo… UK law should stand in all aspects of employment… 3 written warnings etc.
So, as I said earlier,
If it is him, he has asked politely for us to remove any photo’s.
Irrespective if it is him or not… someone has POLITELTY asked for the photo’s to be removed… I Say No More.. It is up to whomever has photos still at large whether they wish to remove them or not.. So stop giving me grief over it… The quote above is what I was saying. AND, by UK law, he has committed a crime… but we wont get into that.
Although.. yes, I do agree… and this would take a mod to do so… Please edit out the profile name of the above response. My appologies.. I did not think of that but wanted to just advertise the guys request ‘If it was him’.

Come on guys that should end this now. FYI he did lose his job and the proof will be no van with him in it in that area.
What are you complaining at now Mike? Fb is just saying that he likes the picture composure and is wondering what the phone was.
The end of what?… I am not doing anything other than reporting the fact that ‘a person’ has politely asked for the pic to be removed…
If you recall.. it was I that stated that it would be up to 08oo to determine if his employment status remains positive and noone else… that as far as I was concerned he should receive 3 written warnings before loosing his ’employment if UK law is any guide. However, as everyone has been saying, 08oo is a franchise situation and in that respect they would have to remove his franchise.
