DrDill, May I ask you to enlighten us about any ‘Conflict of interests’ that you consider WTA council members may hold, that they may answer your problem and possibly eleviate any problematic thoughts you may be having.
DrDill wrote:The main change i would like to see would be the joining criteria, every member to be visited, test equipment evaluated, previous customers contacted to gauge customer satisfaction, insurances inspected waste liscences mandatory so old parts can be recycled not go to landfill are just the start as far as i am concerned.
This paragraph holds many envisaged changes that would be nice to see, however, I forsee a few problems in that area:
- 1.. Unless a member carried waste then it is overkill to force a member to hold a licence for such. Maybe an answer to this is to ask the member on joining wether they carry waste and act thereafter
2.. Customer Opinion Screening by a third party, TA or not, without the prior opinion of that customer to release contact details would possibly be breaking Data Protection Laws.
I do realise that there are answers to these problems. Answers would need to be trialed and then implemented if successful. You will notice I didn’t respond regarding visits, test equipment or insurances; this is due to the fact that it is already or shortly will be possible for visits and/or inspections to be done, but that is up to WTA to implement.. regarding members insurance certificates, the inspection of members PL insurance is already ongoing before membership.
DrDill wrote:I realise that not many agree with these suggestions as of costs etc but its my opinion and you asked, that is why will not join yet, but should that change in the future then i would join.
Some may see me as part of the problem and i accept that, but i do know we always operate to as high a standard as we can, which is more than the proposed COP.I don’t have a problem with anything you suggest. Suggestions create improvements, even the negative ones.
I am a WTA member, and my reason for joining was to make a difference. Even though you can not see what individual members are doing to make changes, beleive me when I say that a fair number of members are pro-active.
So I say to you… Why not join and act to effect the change that you want in this profession.

ParticipantRe: WMA 52 Bearing replacement
You need a 35mm bearing set (C00202418)
30mm spiders used to be available but they are now discontinued.

Just done three Beko’s with the same fault Martin.. Two of them (WMA510 & WM5100) had this exact same problem as described above and one (WMA510) was trying to ramp up speed for a second and then just tumbling. Replacement tacho 372205505 cured each one

ParticipantRe: FEW12 problems
Just been out to this one… Split drum with Module at the top.
The guy switched the machine on to show me the problem.
The Door Interlock operated.
The Pump opperated.
The Valve opened to fill. After about 10 seconds there was a bang. I took off the besel to look at the module and sure enough the module had blown. it had taken out all the following tracks ‘From right to left’ 2, 3, and 5. Now 2 and 3 belong to the door lock and 5 belongs to the motor. It was a dead earth with a very loud bang and that tripped at the consumer unit rather than blowing the fuse in the plug. I would say that the door switch had been wired the wrong way around, but the door switch actually locked.
Anyway I told the guy that it was gonna cost him more than the value of his machine. If the truth be known he had proberbly had the machine in bits and re-wired something the wrong way around.

With the machine unplugged and the motor connector disconnected check the 2nd & 3rd spade connections on the block (two yellow wires) using 200 Ohms on a multimeter… Whilst connected to those two spades spin the motor… the reading should alter… if it does not then the tacho at the rear f the motor needs changing

ParticipantRe: Bosch WFB4000 Leaking
If you still cant find the leak or traces of it, try using some food dye in a rinse so that you can trace where the leak is originating.
This is a last resort though… Need for another afterwash with bleach afterwards.

Doesn’t this model have the sensor-bar just inside of the door.. if so, give it a clean with some alcohol and you’ll fine that correct the heating problem when the heater and stats are found to be ok
