ParticipantRe: AEG configuration code
Thought I’d update you on this one as it may come in handy for the future.
I came across a Service Bulletin on the TDS disc (no 599 51 23 25 EN), the title being: Front loader (EWM1500, EWM2000) LAVAMAT 6…and…machines Inadvertently activated Demo-Mode
Apparently this is activated by selecting PREWASH and SOAK buttons while at the same time switching on the machine through the DELICATE SPIN position (operating the buttons for more than 4 seconds)
So that is what I’d done! 😳 😳 😳
The deactivation is carried out exactly as the selection (see above).
Due to the deafening silence on this one, I take it that is not well known. 😉
Regards,
Dave

ParticipantRe: Zanussi DE6754 Heat Problem
Most probably a dry joint on the module. A no heat fault will not show up to the customer and will not interrupt the cycle. It will, however, be stored in memory accessed by diagnostics.

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint t/t 9404
You will not believe this but I was having a good clear out last week, picked one up still in it’s sealed packet, and threw it away saying “I’ll never need one of those again!” Typical!

ParticipantRe: AEG configuration code
Thanks for the replies guys. Unfortunately that looks like the code that is already in there so it does not explain the fault as outlined above. Has anybody got any ideas?

Hi Sparepart,
you’re in the very fortunate position in having EMW right on your doorstep. So why don’t you whip the board out and take a trip out to Oxton and have it tested/ repaired as necessary?

You can get free caller ID now from BT. If a call is coming in from outside the UK it desplays “International” so you can reject itThe trouble is, Greg, that some telephone providers route their calls internationally now (it’s cheaper that way apparently 😯 ) so a customer calling from just down the road can come up as “international” and you could end up ignoring them as well. I found this out when I answered one such call in a somewhat mischievious manner, expecting it to be a foreign telesales call, but it turned out to be a very surprised customer. I think I got away with it though.
