    Re: worst thing

Once pulled a live 5.56 mm round from an SA80 from a washing machine. It was wedged in the heater element. Seems the customer’s brother was in the Marines.

This one’s in the yuk category. On removing a w/m once, I found that the waste hose had been inserted into a hole made in the 4 inch waste pipe coming down from the upstairs toilet. Made me honk to discover human waste all over the end of the hose. Sorry, I’ve got to go, it’s just set me off again…………………

I always carry in the van Electrue’s CBN9213 and CBN9126 which between them will fit virtually any ceset motor.

Thanks for the replies guys. Think I’ll order a pressure sensor and see if that does the trick.

As this is a shaded pole type motor, it should run at a nominal 2800 rpm

I’ve had this before. Recon board from EMW did the trick.

Re: Hotpoint / Creda tumble dryers not heating

I’m with you on this one, Andy. The 1701583’s on the Creda/Hotpoint condenser dryers seem to be the worst. Sometimes I can be back within a week to replace them and then they may be ok for some time. And of course it’s muggins here that has to pick up the tab for the re-visit. I have no confidence in them whatsoever, just hope that they last long enough that I don’t have to replace them under guarantee.

    Guess what?

After a few days drying out, the machine started to work again! I told the customer to try it daily and then tell me if it came back to life, which it did after about 5 days. Went back to run it and check that I’d fixed the leak ok, safety checked it and it has now gone through several complete washes without recurrence. Glad I didn’t start throwing parts at it!

    Thanks Clyde,

I’ve tried that already. I’ve got no lights on the panel or beeping of any kind. I can induce the A1 fault by tripping the flood switch. Switch off, led stops flashing but can not reset or set a program at all. It sounds like a module fault, but am I missing something here?

    Cheers,

Re: Neff Fan Oven – Removal of fan and motor

First of all, it is a left handed thread. Even when undone, it will probably be difficult to get the fan off the shaft. Lubrication of the bearings will definately not help. A new fan motor is the only solution – sorry 🙁

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ISOLATE IT FROM THE MAINS BEFORE WORKING ON IT.

You could be right Ken. I’ve not seen it for myself yet, but it could be a case of taking a look and walking away! However, if I go armed with the wiring diagram it might just turn a BER into a paying job.

    Check your PM’s Bob
