    Re: American Whirlpool Drier ‘Dead’

I seem to recollect than some of these machines have an in-line fuse at the top in amongst the control panel area. Easy enough to find as I recall.

    Hi Bryan,

I usually find it’s just the knob 154957 broken.

Goatboy, try Servisol label remover, part no LR130 from Electrue. Works a treat on unwanted sticky labels.

    Re: NAIKO DW040

A quick search on google shows a Naiko Ltd in Leeds on 01937 579888. Don’t know if this is them but it’s a start. Incidentally, I went to one of these machines this morning for an overfilling snag. Wasn’t looking forward to going as a) it’s a bit of an unknown brand, b) It’s about the size of a large microwave and c) the machine only cost £70 new from Safeway! However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it is actually quite a good machine especially in view of the ridiculously low purchase price. Also, when you get the cover off, it’s not too bad to work on – certainly better than those horrid little Bosch things! Anyway, the problem turned out to be a gunge in the hose from the sump to the float chamber and in the float chamber itself.

Aaaah. Crazy thing is that the recon modules are probably better than brand new as in many cases they will have had known weak components replaced. It’s recon everytime for me I’m afraid.

Sounds suspiciously like the module to me. Get the 546……… number off of the module label and give EMW a tinkle. Their new no is 0115 9652118.

Thanks very much for the info Dave – much appreciated. Looks conventional enough, think I’m just gonna have to dive in and see what’s in there.
Oh, and thanks Washman as well – only just seen your reply
