Just to clear up a few ambiguities:
“A thermocouple is a device made of two different metals which creates a small electrical charge when heated at one end by the flame. This small charge causes an electromagnet inside the gas valve to open and allow gas to flow to the burner. “

Had to install a new w/m and d/w for a customer recently, supplied by themselves. Both Prima. The w/m was a Zanussi and the d/w was a Whirlpool. ❓ ❓ ❓

It could well be the timer, especially if it’s a Copreci as they’re cr*p. The new one is an Eaton and comes with a conversion kit and instructions.

As Chris says, the tripod/spider is not available as a spare part in it’s own right – although it should be! I’ve successfully drilled them off of old drums in the past and attached them with countersunk M6 bolts and nuts. I did e-mail Crosslea to se if they would supply me with some, but they said no – bless ’em! Perhaps the buying power of UKW could have more success.
