    Working for network rail as a signal and telecoms technician
    Did the same job nearly 30 years ago.

    I finally got out of the trade before xmas. Was fed up with price of parts, new machines etc
    Was very busy but not making enough money, now doing a job I really enjoy, good money and plenty of holidays etc
    ( will still keep my hand in on occasions though

    Have they reverted back to just a spring retainer instead of wire and spring, this was in the last seal I fitted last week

    I see Samsung have done a recall on washing machines in the states, surely whirlpool should have just bitten the bullet and done the same, problem would’ve been sorted months ago

    Hard I know but I’d refuse to do any repair without a megger.
    I’d be absolutely lost without mine, in fact I wouldn’t attempt any repair without it.
    I have no idea how many regs he’s breaking

    I use a Martindale insulation tester which is great and just a cheap multimeter as backup
