So if its “pulsing three times as normal” I would be checking the drain pump or for a blockage.
Its unlikely to be the PCB if its getting power to the drain pump and its pulsing as normal

Well its doing the short pulse empties but NOT the long one that follows the short empty parts….. it just stops with water inside…. even pressing cancel does the same 3 pulses and NOT the long pump out ???

This machine is 25 months old. Has to be a PCB fault.

The lock does sound like the most promising but clearly not

The machine drains fine and the drainage is fine, it works most of the time but is very random with the error codes from what the cx was saying – it went through a 30min cylce fine except it failed at the end on the dry part…… so could the pressure switch be a potential intermittant problem?

Yes the double valve works fine as it goes through a rinse cycle ok and when it stops during any other setting there’s no sound at all, no buzzing no clicking, nothing which makes me think its the pcb not sending any signal out at that point?

I did take the dryer heater wires off to test the heater……. but didn’t actually think to re-try the machine at that point 🙁

I still dont know how to put a Zanussi into “service mode” ….. aren’t all the models different or is there a standard test proceedure for any Zanussi?

AHA, so does that mean it might randomly go into a “self test” mode and is that actually a problem that can be solved or just needs to be cleared then restarted?

    Dave

No, unfortunately I’m not familiar with putting into the diagnostic mode, is there an a standard procedure?

electrofix wrote:be careful with lighter as if its too hot for probe it can damage it

you could try timed dry instead of automatic

also you cannot say its the board till everthing else has been looked at like tracing sensors back to board to make sure its not a wiring problem

    Dave

I went back today for another lool………..The new “one shot” stat had the same response to heat as the original, then I by-passed the other 2 stats but with no better results – the heaters are both ok, the wiring to & from the parts-pcb are all ok, so I’m thinking it must be the dryer pcb at fault

BUT I’m getting mains power to the top “one shot” stat (2 grey wires) and the side stat (2 blue wires) which is confusing me because in my mind it should then heat up…. but its not 🙁

I’ll go back to check them with a lighter….. but if they react to the heat and are ok then I’d be looking at the dryer pcb failure I’m guessing?

both should read 5000 ohms at 25 degrees C

    Dave

I didn’t actually check them with heat….. there’s 2 toc’s on the dryer duct (one is white on top, the other is black on the side) then there’s a thermister in the front where the ducting bends towards the door seal

Do you mean the air break unit or does this model have an impellor jug system?
