If he claims the job numbers are the same then it proves what people are saying that they are taking on more engineers and spreading the jobs around.

I agree. I think we need to differentiate between what we want to do and what we can do.

There is no point in the WTA losing credibility by going off half cocked and then grinding to a halt when we come across something we hadn’t thought of.

    Re: Rate reduction issues

It would be good to know as mentioned in the first 2 posts of this thread but other than asking all the members I doubt there is anyway of finding out.

On a side issue, are we planning on taking WTA membership forms to the meeting to recruit any wannabe members?

Job booked for Monday. Customer is paying and claiming back from Currys.

If the bill comes to more than £200 she has to phone for authorisation :rotl:

Anyone want to hazard a guess to what the invoice will amount to?

    😀 😀 😀

I having loads of fun here!!!

Got a call from Repaircare yesterday asking if I could do a call for them in Brechin. It was as if they were just ringing round to see if they could get anyone. Asked them how much and they told me the new rate. Told them no way!! and off he went.

Just had a call from a customer who I have been to before for RC, in Brechin, and she asked if I could repair her dishwasher and send the bill to Currys as she was told that Currys has no one in this area. Explained to her that I would do the repair but she would have to pay and claim it back from Currys. She went nuts! I said if she wanted she could ask Currys to call me and pay upfront(at my price) and then I would go out.

She is off to phone Currys, who I think will be RC, and let me know. 8)

    Re: DSG/RepairCare Rate Cuts

One thing that is crystal clear here is that the engineers are the ones being taken for mugs.

Now, be it by Repaircare or DSGi, they all have long memories and without them neither would have a repair network. I don’t believe for a second that no-one from DSGi reads this forum and yet they have not denied anything that RC has said. So either they are the guilty party or they are in bed with RC on this shafting of the repairers.

Seems things are hotting up in the “rumour mill”.

Does anyone from DSGi have access to the rumour mill? It would be interesting to know what they are thinking at this point knowing Repaircare have shafted their agents and blaming it 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} on DSGi.

    Re: Rate reduction issues

I had an interesting phone call from the area manager after Ade’s post on the RC forum. RC had said I resigned when all I had done was tell them I wouldn’t be doing the DSGi or Crosslee calls as they were not paying enough. He told me and I quote “If you are not doing these calls then I have to offer them to another company, however, I cannot just offer them these two contracts, I would have to offer them the viable ones as well”.

So he admits that the DSGi and Crosslee calls are not viable.

Although they are saying openly that it is not all or nothing, it clearly is.

A bit more info on this.

The bag manufacturer states these bags are not suitable for domestic machines does this therefore rule out the ISE10?

Problem with the terminal block melting on these and one of the feeds goes open circuit.

I have had a couple of these with a dry joint on the inverter board. A dod of solder fixed them.

    Re: sept 2010 meeting

Okay just managed to book a room. Had to take a King Hilton room @£75 per night as that is all they have left.

Does this mean that loads of people are booking and this meeting is going to be massive? 😀
