    Hi John,

they are no different from a normal bearing change, its either like a hotpoint wm or if its a later type its the tub out just like a zanussi but from the front. as for the cost to the customer it depends where you get the spares.

    Hi Guya,
find a home for your frozen food, then switch off you fridge freezer for 24 hours with both doors left open.
i know its a frost free appliance but sometimes the defrost system does get defeted under certain conditions, the noise you are hearing is the fridge baffle motor and it is possibly jammed with ice build up causing this fault.

    Hi Graeme,
the thermistor is located in the evaporator and is a white cylinder shape about 30mm long, the part you refer to is the 85c thermal fuse. there has been quite a few mods to this (old) f/freezer if you get stuck give me a call on 07860486679 and i will talk you through them.

    Re: Smelly Ice

    Hi Nick,
the blocking up or partal blocking up of the very bottom air return vent was to stop food from freezing in the bottom basket when the fridge freezer was left for long periods of no fridge door openings, what would happen is the freeing air in the freezer would fall and vent into the fridge when the evaporator fan was not running, so dont be concerned about this repair, but as for the cork was it a new one or a used wine or vinager cork as that might be the source of contamination, revove it for now and keep your fingers crossed, you can allways replace it later with clean polestyrene.

    Hi Captaink,

this appliance has what we call a wet wall fridge evaporator located on the back of the fridge interior, with the symtoms you describe its engineer time im afraid, as this sounds like a system that is short of refrigerant.

    Hi Nick,

as K has just about covered all the aspects, may i ask if the water from the water dispenser also tastes and smells the same. also this appliance recirculates air into and out of the fridge so cross contamination of strong food in the fridge compartment such as garlic or onions as an example can always be tasted in the ice cubes even if a inline filter is fitted.

hope that helps and this link may help you further. http://www.dwi.gov.uk/consumer/faq/chlorine.htm

    Re: Scary Chinese Dishwashers

never had a recall on the hinge bar as i set up the door balancing springs to stop the door from falling down when the customer opens it. (kitchen/appliance installers never adjust them correctly) 👿

As for flooding or leaking check the appliance very carefully when at full temperature it normaly shows the leaks, this requires a full de-install with both side covers removed, if you get repeated flooding of the base for no reason change the PCB and cross you fingers 😀

    Re: Scary Chinese Dishwashers

the bar you refer to is the complete hinge assembly, if so it only takes 30 mins to change it even on the build in version and thats without removing it from the housing. 😀 (trade secret) 😉 as you say ken dont try it without the hinge pin retainers as they do break quite easy. the rest of the appliance is total sh!t but then all the cheap ones are these days.
