I think the prewash light flashing is a time out on fill.

Check the edge connectors. I have seen edge connectors that track between terminals. It’s possible that a short may be supplying both the cold valve and the pump at the same time.

Have you meggared the machine. An earth fault on the heater can cause strange faults.

Have you checked the obvious. It’s not simply syphoning because the drain hose is too far down the standpipe.

This machine does advance quickly through to that position before it heats and then heats to the temperature of the preselected program. Have you checked the temperature or are you just assuming that it’s only heating to 40C?

Nobody has mentioned on this thread that the most common cause of no heat in these machines is a bad solder connection on the heater relay on the module. This is very obvious visually.

Remember that the heater is switched in the neutral.

I have one of these today doing the same thing. I can’t find anything wrong apart from a bulge in the side of the capacitor. The machine seems to have plenty of starting torque but the capacitor may be breaking down when hot.

I have replaced the capacitor and left the customer to put it though a few vigorous tests,

I will let you know the outcome

It’s the pressure switch. The switch has gone out of calibration and there is too small difference between the normal water level and the overfill protection level.

Thanks Chris. I can’t find the switch listed under any of my suppliers. Do you have source for this part.

    It’s an Indesit in disguise.

It’s branded as New World and is shown on Connect Mediator. Don’t fall over when you see the price of a door frame…

If the condensate bottle (Bucket to you) 😉 has a cap, check that the air breather hole is clear. The later bottles do not have a cap.

We use Quickbooks for all our accounting needs. The stock control couldn’t be simpler. Any items purchased are keyed in on a daily basis and all parts used are recorded on the invoices and keyed as a usage.

It has its limitations and problem (mostly due to duplicate part numbers when items are sourced from a different supplier and/or the package has a different part number from the supplier’s invoice.)

However it works well for us and we can see exactly what is in stock at any time. It can be set up with minimum order levels and the system will prompt for the item to be reordered.
