    Re: HOTPOINT WF 860P

Had exactly the same symptom on an built in Indesit washer dryer today. Although it showed F03 fault code (NTC) I was thrown by the filling at turn on symptom. The NTC tested out ok with the test meter.

To be sure of the diagnosis I connected a van stock Hotpoint thermistor to the terminals to see what happened and the fault disappeared!

I am going back next week with the correct NTC.

    Re: A Quandry ?

Last one I had with that sort of problem was due to water leaking from the condenser/fan housing onto the module. Perhaps it’s the same problem and the water has now dried up and the fault cured itself…

    Until next time…

You’re wrong there Martin. All the Hotpoint machines I have seen spin clockwise. Until perhaps the new WF range…

The symptoms are similar to relay pcb fault[starts ok sometimes but stops after a few minutes]. Timer and pcb have been eliminated by substitution.

If the whole aplliance dies then it’s not going to be the capacitor. I would be looking for a mains supply problem, possibly the plug, socket or suppressor.

Is this a condenser dryer? if so it’s worth checking the float switch. It’s a sod to get to as it’s a drum out job…

Check it on wash to ensure drum is reversing!

Bet it’s only going one way… If so it’s a faulty relay on the board (or a dry joint that you have missed)

    user manual is available here..

    http://www.serviceforce.co.uk/pdfs/U02329.pdf

page 7 shows “dry button” this must be depressed otherwise the timer will quickly advance out of dry phase.

Either the switch is faulty or your customer is… well you know!

    😳
Whoops, didn’t read the original post properly. I thought it was the top spray not working.

Before going down this line, check that you have diagnosed the fault correctly. Could still be a blocked metering hose!!!!

    Re: Bosch Dishwasher SGS43T52GB/21 overheating

I think this must have been a bad connection on the module.

After checking all the wiring and checking the NTC resistance from the module end, the damn thing now works OK.

    Thanks again for the info.

Nutradol air freshener. I discovered this purely by accident. The propelent used in aerosols will kill suds. smells nice too.
