    Re: HMV

Hi, Yes I do watch the news, the chances of the adminstrators Deloite saving them now are sadly very small. 🙁

    Re: HMV

Cant say Im sad to see HMV go, all those years of ripping people off.

I don’t know if anyone remembers the cost of a cd album in the early 90’s but it was £17.99 to £21.99. The trouble was there no competition on the high street exept Our Price and they were nearly as bad.

There was a few independent stores on the high street that could always undercut HMV, normally by about 6-7 pounds, (admittedly they had little stock compared to HMV).

People have long memories and they lost a lot of good will amongst people I know around this time.

Basically had they not been so greedy during the good times I for one would have had more loyal to them.

More sad news as a attempted microwave repair ended in death.

    Clear Silicoln glue

Dont want to steal your thread but on a similar line most of my black work t-shirts have had silicoln glue on them for years, (normally when I have done a tub job and lift the drum up to fit it back into the cabinet).
How do I get rid of this?

Made the mistake of working for these cowboys, just go paid today after chasing them for the last four months. It was only after I threatened them with legal action that they paid up.

The excuses they fob you off with when you ring them up are laughable.

Do not do any work for these people, you will reget it!

Re: Are all washing machines tested before sale?

Interesting as most of the new machines I have installed have a sticker on the front of the machine which says something like

“this machine has been tested before and so may have some water residue inside, this is nothing to worry about”

I would not recommend the type recommended by Steve, I’ve found they only last a year, best to pay more for one that will last ten years, no competition when you compare the build quality.

    Hi Raceboy,
You are obviously concerned with price for this job, have you asked for a estimate if its the bearings over the phone?, you should then not be in for any shocks.

Bearing replacement jobs are the most labour intensive jobs we do so expect a higher labour charge than normal, despite the cost of the parts, bearing / tub jobs are expensive repairs.

No, not a worry, always tell the customer to run the oven for five to ten minuites and the fumes burn off really quickly, never had negative feedback from customers using WD40 or silicone sprays.
