    Hi MarkF,

I also used to work for the repair agents of this appliance.

Doing the job properly, fitting cross piece, bearings and seals is well worth 150. Not a rip off price in my opinion.

Get it fixed would be my advice after all 150 won’t buy you a decent machine.

Re: 1606 how to access diagnostic mode

    Ok thanks.

Very confusing as the manual shows a three segmant button which contains the buttons s9,s10 and s11.

I see now you mean those five buttons including s4 and s5 are behind the three segmant button not the two segmant as per instructions.

Ha, ha I am genuinely supprised I am the only person who has questioned this.

And I thought programming those lux pcb’s in binary was tricky!

Re: 1606 how to access diagnostic mode

    Hi Ken,

    Thanks for replying.

I went to this machine and I did manage to do the reset.

To do the reset I found I had to hold in S1 “AND” S2 together to get all the LED’s around the selector knob to illuminate.

(Strange as the instructions specifically say press and hold in just S1 which does not work).

Anyway my question now is how do I initiate the test procedure after this. The instructions say “Press button S4/S5 and keep it depressed for approximately 20 seconds”.

This would be fine but on the ISE 1606 there is not the button s4/s5!.

Just to clarify the 1606 facia from right to left has the start/ stop button (s1-s2), the selector knob and the temperature spin knob (s9,s10,s11).

So buttons S4 and s5 are not there, obviously a option from the manual but not this button is not on the 1606w.

Re: 1606 how to access diagnostic mode

The machine I attempted to access the diagnosis I could not even get to stage 3 of the test cycle.

When it says “Check that any of the LEDs around the programme knob (L7 – L16) light”, does it mean “all” the led’s illuminate as I never saw this happen to indicate the reset had taken place. I did however see “any/ some” of the led’s illuminate although Im unsure if this means a reset has taken place.

Does the door have to be open or closed to do the reset procedure as section 5 says “check the door is closed”, not sure if this is just a check for the start of the test or means the door should be open for the first stage, the reset procedure?

    Re: Bosch gaskets interchangeable ?

Yes Martin, I have fitted quite a few of these recently, I think a email to qualtex to ask them to hurry up with a patten part is in order.
And why do they provide those two retaining rings when the old ones are identical and re-usable?

    Re: golocal reactive

    Hi Mario,

Yes I feel for you on this one having been there.

The phone opperatives at Golocal are very well trained at making excuses and putting you off for a few more days.
Even if you try bombarding them with calls demanding to speak to someone, depending who you are speaking to they will just give you another excuse, eg, the managers out of the office, on hoilday, terminal illness etc.

They paid a few invoices on time then as soon as they owed me a few hundred quid, no payment.

For sole traders trying to run a small buisniess this is extra stress I could do without.

It was only after I threatend legal action I got payment.

As I said before “avoid these cowboys”.

Laws ought to be brought in to prevent proper d*cks like Mr Waterhouse disolving companies and reforming under different names when his companies go tits up.

    Re: dyson contratator

    Hi,
There are only those two bolts holding the motor on.
You don’t have to take the front off.
Once you take the bolts off the motors they are indeed a very tight fit on the plastic moulding.
The only way I have found to get them off is to use a flat headed screw driver fitted in between the motor and the mounting to prize them off, a bit of wd40 helps.
(A bit of course language and sweating also helps.)
