Re: Amana ac2228hekb freezing in fridge

The filter / water head kit is obsolete. On this model the water goes through the filter before the valves. The only option is to buy an external filter kit and bypass the water line before it goes to the filter and again where it goes to the valves. Basically cutting out the old filter kit. Do you know if the water inlet pipe has a screw connection (brass nut and olive) where it joins the machine or a push fit? I’ve got a water hose with the nut and olive? If so PM me.
As for the ice chute – It’ll need removing to see what’s broken. 2 screws behind the drip tray which pulls off and the dispenser drops downs a few mm’s to lift out.

    Hi
The ice flap doesn’t rotate just opens and closes. The ice flap door can break or the housing can break or solenoid overheat and melt the housing. The water filter head can and does break (last news it was obsolete) But often if the fridge is running cold you can get condensation and that appears like a leak in the filter housing. re the water inlet hose. I may be able to fix you up with one. I need to check otherwise these are no longer available. The spares situation with these products is poor at best. They’ve been left to flounder by Whirlpool with very little spares and even less support. Another good brand on its way out.

That’s insane rates and what are they planning for van stock. Multibrand is so diverse. Especially if you take out Beko. There’s no quantity just lots of different stock lines.

There taking D&G multibrand work. Very few of their own engineers have signed up for it. So looking at independents. Can anyone else remember the last attempt at this?
FIXT I think they called themselves. That didn’t work either.
The D&G pot is getting smaller as per the previous thread.
I didn’t attend the meetings but can’t imagine the rates getting any better.

Try Gary Pearce Capital Repairs. They were sat on loads of spares they were selling on ebay at one time.

Hi this is the Whirlpool produced machine and there should be two small holes under the bottom of the dispenser, If there is, you should be able to insert a small terminal driver and flick the surround out from the bottom then carefully work around it unclipping it.

This is one of the earlier models, the only pcb is for the dispenser.
Compressor overload / relay is the first thing that comes to mind.

    Re: call answering service

    Hi Chris,
We’ve used a firm based in Hull called Night&Day PA. They are a small but efficient team and reasonable charges. They have band charges depending on the number of inbound calls. They arranged our diary and took the clients calls sending over a job sheet per customer, a summary of messages and a spreadsheet of bookings.
They are very flexible and will do whatever you need pretty much.
Contact Nicola on Nicola@nightanddaypa.co.uk to discuss your needs and costs.
We only stopped using them when I stopped doing work for D&G and employed someone fulltime to cover the admin. :phone: 😉

    Try:- uk_spares@whirlpool.com
The part you need is the Better Board Parts No 67002263 (may have had a number change) But I also feel its no longer available. I’m certain the last one I tried to obtain I couldn’t get it. (Parts drawing attached).
