    Re: Hotpoint FF92S

There was a problem with evaporator thermistors going out of tolerance, it usually showed up as a fault with the fridge too warm.
    approx temp / resiatnce values
    +20deg c room temp 3K
    0deg – 9K
    -5deg – 11.5K
    -20deg – 26K

due to drifting in the freezer thermistor usually down to moisture getting into the sleeve of the thermistor. Check also for air ingress at back of cabinet and loose rast plugs on the thermistor connections

    Hope this helps.

heard from the grapevine that Indesh!t Co are looking to have all franchise agents within the coming two years?? Cant 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} the accuracy of this info, but watch this space.
I looked at working for them jan05, started attended the course and left three weeks later, BETTER OFF BUSKING IN MANCHESTER AND PROBABLY MORE RESPECTED than working as an indesit fse. Nothing like the Hotpoint I left 10 years previously. Did look at franchise but @ £16 per call?? thought I was better off cards in, then realised wrong decision.
Very sad situation allround, probably better off using franchised agents, but pay a decent rate.
and £25 p/m for the rent of a laptop which is obsolete and batteries F….d is just having a laugh..
I for one had a real awakening and I am aware of many more in the same boat.

I guess I would start with a fluorescent tube and replace the starter which is situated in the rear (near terminal block), usually the tube gets changed and becaues the starter is hidden it gets forgotten about.
Possible choke could be faulty but these usually are very reliable.

The previous models had a reverse timer in the base, In the days of timers..
Check the capacitor for the feeds, there should be one for each direction.
Follow this back and see where they go to.
Also is it that it only runs one way continuesly, or does it run one direction and then stops waiting until it reverses a second time.
if its the last scenario could be a faulty capacitor, swap the wires round to see if it now runs in the opposite direction.

LOGICALLY, OVEN GLASSES OFTEN TAKE A KNOCK, A DISH OR SOMETHING DROPPING ON THEM, AT SOME POINT.
AS YOUR AWARE THEY CAN SHATTER FOLLOWING THE INCIDENT OR ANY TIME AFTER. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY THE FIRST TIME ITS BEEN HOT FOR SOMETIME.
BEAR IN MIND ITS THE FIRST TIME ITS REACHED HIGH TEMP, FOR A PERIOD OF TIME. THAT STRESS IN THE GLASS, JUST WAITING TO EXPAND… COULD EVEN HAVE BEEN WHEN SHE WAS SLAMMING THE DOOR SHUT WHEN IT HADNT COOKED THE TEA, BANG 😡

DONT TAKE IT, IF YOU CANT CONVINCE HER LEAVE AND SLAM HER DOOR HARD, SEE IF YOU BUST THE GLASS IN THAT. 😈

Re: hotpoint dwf element clamp tool?

Hotpoint supply Jubilee clips for this very job, not sure of part number but they are very narrow.
All Hotperloni guys should be aware that cable ties are a no no, they tried this when it first came about and yes it blows off due to pressure.
Its evolved from using a terminal driver to open up the clasp and re using to replacing with jubilee clips, check part finder for number.
Once again, the tool for the clips is available from Halfords and it works on the clips, not sure about access in the machine though.
Guess the same goes for other manufacturers using this heater.

also another one late service washer changed handle kit and pecker(handles are different between models but all peckers seem to be the same length on late models)problem is when closing door doesent seem to reach interlock at first i thought i must have wrong handle kit but checked and is right one so going back tomorrow to have another look am wondering if interlock is mashed?? anyone had the same will get model number of machine and handle kit part number if this helps

We just loved these, when replacing condensor look at using long nuts and bolts rather than the self tappers, They very often fall off with the original screws, Ive never had one come off when Ive fitted it with my assortment of nuts and bolts, I keep specially for them.
If youve a new seal for the condensor replace it – If you need one let me know Ive got several spare. Seal cond/tub (Oring)

The rep refused to re-install it on my shop PC, after I formatted it about a year ago.

“Don’t worry” he said “It’s all online, and just as good.” 😕

Was that John, nice guy but a certain way with words, he was pobably sick of people like me. He had to re install ours on a regular basis, I was a real pain to him over this – Poor guy.

Re: Hotpoint WM72 ‘check drain hose’ error

Yes, after youve stripped the machine looking for blockages and eventually getting round to meggering the machine its more often a earth leak as stated.. .. On the heater, attributed to the drum support breaking and cutting into the heater.
When you spin the drum by hand you cannot always tell the support has cracked, but you can with a load when starting to spin.

This is now quite common, I guess its an age thing..
