Re: New High quality Hotpoint WM

Several years past the then Hotpoint launched the GE brand of washers. A face lift version of a WM64, this was launched under the guise beefed up for the states etc etc and any other excuse that they could bring to mind to justify the GE badged machine. It sold for something in the region of £500 plus when the wm64 was selling for £430 ( what figures ).
It certainly wasnt beefed up just given a cloak similar to the german machines of the time, although we knew what was inside we sold a few because it wasnt in the sheds, similar to your ISE theory of today really.
Still a few remaining and the customers still dont know they have a Hotpoint.

Its all in a name….. If they keep saying its quality then one day they will really believe it is.

As mentioned above, this is the norm for this machine but check the sump for blockages. If the sump is blocked or partially blocked it will throw water from the dispenser down the front panel and will not always show an error on the board.
Had a similar checked flow all appeared OK no leaks, then it would go into spin and drop the water.. a duster wrapped up around the sump ball..Sorted.

Silicon spray, as its the same in the furniture polish, without the perfume.
Great on door seals and as a lubricant for anything plastic.
Also cleans the dashboard a treat. not as expensive as the dedicated ones.

Well how did it go, did you stay with BG or move make the move to Indesit, what was the difference in salary on offer.
What was on offre to tempt you away?
and if you have moved how is it going?
This insight could be beneficial for any others.

    Re: Crazy

Likewise I left the then stable Hotpoint Creda to go it alone, after ten years and feeling the grass was greener, and finding myself without premises I was convinced that the new Indesit Co were paying fantastic with overtime galore and without a care in the world.
Last year I took the plunge (although I hadnt closed the business totally) and went to Indesit.
As a new starter you were really made to feel that you were a very insignificant part of the chain, The supervisor held all the cards and he was the boss..
Having left training school ( for the second time in 16 years ) I found the overtime was now not available, the van stock totally irrational and they were not in a position to issue tools or megger. Everything was done on a shoe string
The transormation in that Company hit me like a bolt of lightening..But none for the better.
I believe they are still struggling to recruit and retain engineers, and I guess the blame without cause is put on the training school who must really feel it, having scores of new starters and very few staying more than 3 months max.
On leaving a interview is taken, but this provides no usefull information to the Co as the people interviewing cause many of the problems and would not like to see anything in a poor light especially themselves..
I was always proud to have been associated with Hotpoint, but not any longer…….

Reversing timer sticking also gives cause to tripping plus check float chamber for sticking float, as this will often cause no heat but will not affect stats.
I am sure this has all gone down on a pre thread. ❓

If this is fact, they will really clean up, Stocklink was precise, gave you the information and worked. We ran our business around this site for ten years and nothing else can touch it for an on counter spares system.
Washvac dropped around £12K from my company per year, Not the biggest spenders but its still there, wonder how many others are searching for what they once had.

    best of luck to them

As stated if the loom is tied up correctly it doesnt usually cause a problem, its after a drum change is when he problem arises.

For good measure try some spiral wrap – rswww.com

same for the washer dryer – cable wearing against cabinet behind timer.

BEWARE, if purchasing these test plugs and certainly the interface leads, they are not the most reliable kit in the world and hit and mis when used.

Re: Can Hotpoint get any worse

Although I have no sympathy with the cost cutting done by these guys every screw has had the threads removed to save a penny (dont take literaly), but this sound like a torque setting problem in the factory, rather like what was encountered on the wm range some years ago, with the top weight coming loose.
Although they’ve taken away every cost, and filled this machine with Indecent electronics, its still the same wma drum, the s/steel cups were omitted a few years ago with no real effect?
if this is just becoming apparent it would suggest a tooling problem, or the robot fitting the screws should have three shredded wheat before next shift.

💡 Now these robots are been paid by Indesit Co, they wont get Shredded wheat anymore it will be pasta shapes, cooked by robots of course..
