ParticipantRe: Another nightmare WMXTF!
I assumed the warranty is only for one year, I did advise them to contact hotpoint and see what they could offer, likely a plan for £100 that would provide the repair and a further years warranty as I suspect its the main board.
The model is a WMXTF942 Martin!char14lew

ParticipantRe: PAT tester damages Siemens dishwasher module?
I was told during my course at Dixon training never to insulation test electronically controlled appliances via the plug due to the 500v causing damage to the electronics- but to insulation test the components individually?
The tutors had 70yrs experience between them so there must be something in it!char14lew

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WMD960 Leaking
thanks for replies guys – will grime build up be the reason it hasn’t leaked from new then. If that’s the case, should it not be curable with a good clean?

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WMXTF742P tripping
I checked it for resistance and insulation, before and after live testing. If it’s the heater, how is it not tripping when live testing?
I won’t be going back to this one,but will try changing the heature in future regardless!
thankschar14lew
ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WMXTF742P tripping
what if there was a short between live and neutral at the board?

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WMXTF742P tripping
thanks for replies guys!
went back to this, checked socket, changed mains lead and surpressor- still tripping.
live tested heater, not tripping electrics- insulation tested straight after-ok.
live tested drain pump just to rule that out also. Has to be mains board surely?char14lew
ParticipantRe: rangemaster RDW6012FI/SF E6
There must still have been moisture on a connection as I went back a week later when it had fully dried out and the E6 fault code had cleared and machine was working again!

ParticipantRe: Samsung RSH7UNBP no water
water dispenser lever was broken at the end so wasn’t making contact with the micro switch, hence wasn’t opening the valve!
