Hi, from what you say about the clay like gunk in your waste hose, you are not doing enough service washes. ( Max temp selected and run a wash with no clothes in the machine, the hot water flushes out the system)

Do you use tumble dryer sheets and if so do you put in more than one at a time?
My wife used to use the “tesco moist dryer sheets” and used three at a time to make things smell better :rolls: ….. started getting streaky marks.
Dropped to the recommended one sheet and the marks stopped.
Hope this helps 😉Chris

No worries M. taken with the pinch of salt as intended. 😆
Yes, these areas can clog up very easily and should be regularly cleaned. The regular “hot service wash” we should all do, on most systems does not put hot water through the dispenser drawer and therefore will not help break-up these fatty deposits. ( design improvement idea 💡 )
elbow grease required here, oh no! more references to fats, I’m going……
Old bottle cleaning brushes are great for this by the way.Good luck

ok looks like half my post went missing,
what i meant to say was it’s basically a fibre lubricant /relaxant and that over time you get a residue left over that looks like fat 😳Actually if you use too much conditioner it can clogg up your pipework, kind of like drinking too much full fat milk and clogging your arteries. 😆 ok now i’m digging an even bigger hole for myself trying to wriggle out of the fat issue. 😳 but using words like cationic surfactants makes you sound like a mad Scientist 😉

ParticipantRe: Whirlpool AWZ650 Dryer, Thermostats question.
Thanks for the fast reply Martin, I think this is a VERY good site. 🙂
I will place an order today for stats.I am still concerned about the signs of hot moist air escaping from around the element / hotbox area ( and the visible damage to connectors ) I would guess this shouldn’t happen and if anyone knows the operating temp could they let me know, so i can seal it up without having the extra expense of seal kits. Failing that once I get the new switches and the dryer up and running, I’ll measure the temp and post on here for other peoples info.
I read and understand that you can’t distribute manuals schematics etc, but could I ask a question to help me understand the control side of things. ❓
There are 3 stats, is the single one at the front the safety over temp?
The top one at the element, the control for the lower temp “gentle” setting. ( ie the stat opens at a low temp e.g. 150 deg) and then therefore the bottom, green stat used to control at the full higher temp. Thanks again for a first class site. 😉

ParticipantRe: Miele tumble dryer – sometimes no heat
sounds like a loose wire or connect to your stats or element.

ParticipantRe: Hoover HNV270 Tumble Dryer
either the heater element is blown or your heater control system is the problem.
The heat control is usually a simple affair with ceramic bimetal snap switches ( thermostats )
Unplug the dryer and remove the back cover and check.Chriztopher

Fab conditioner is basically fat, it will build up and solidify over time. you have a blockage

System is a whirlpool. Wife swears blind she only opens the door when washer is finished.
I took the kick plate off and looked below, few slug trails. I think the odd one is coming up through the floor from the foundations. And the sneaky wee gits, got in when the door has been opened.
Will fill the holes on the floor and see what happens.
More pi$$ed off that there are mouse droppings under the unit and the wife has saw them and now is freaked about a mouse in the house.. ….happy days.
Thanks for the posts, always found this a good site, keep up the good work, by the way, not enough salt..ha ha.
Cheers. -
