I didn’t spend £450 on a dishwasher to spend lots of time at the kitchen sink, just in case my dishwasher cannot handle dirty plates! I thought that was a dishwashers job???? I’d understand if I was pouring lots of grease into it, but a Sunday roast every week; come on it should handle that! That old chestnut!
All the makes you mentioned can and do handle dirty plates…extremely well if given the correct wash cycle and detergent doseage.
I agree it would be nice if a dishwasher could handle anything thrown at it but unfortunately i’ve yet to see one! 😆clivejameson
ParticipantRe: Which is the best electric screwdriver?
I can thoroughly recommend my Dewalt 12v job (the real proffessional tools made by Black and Decker)….comes with two batteries as standard, the ‘T’ shaped handle balances it perfectly, it’s given me years of faultless service (even the batteries), and best of all when it does eventually need repair then the dealers have to provide a loan replacement while they do the job so no ‘down time’ with it.
Incidentally, if you want to buy one then look out for their roadshow demos, they give silly discounts and throw in lots of goodies too…they almost paid me to have mine! 😆clivejameson

In fact the Hotpoint you had was a Bosch machine with a different name printed on the front, and i’ve had to unblock plenty of Zanussi’s over the years….
Unfortunately, animal fat is often liquid when it enters the machine (via crockery etc) but quickly solidifies when it meets the cold surfaces inside…best bet, and something I always advise, is to get the hot tap running and put the really greasy stuff under it for just a second or two before putting in the machine….whatever the make!clivejameson

ParticipantRe: What is the most useful tool in your toolbox?
Just for Chris….my Fluke 73 multimeter has to be my most useful…faultless service for over 15 years and only needed one new battery in all that time!

ParticipantRe: Bosch WFF2260UK/01
yes i agree…had my 73 for donkeys year now….i even had to replace the battery on one occasion!….ohhh…and an internal fuse after live testing on a microwave (silly me forgot to connect my HV probe!)….it’s been dropped, dunked, chewed by a dog, kicked, had washing machines rested on it…and it STILL performes perfectly!
They don’t make ’em like they used to! 😉clivejameson

ParticipantRe: Bosch WFF2260UK/01
yes….suspected that one after finding the pressure system was as clean as a whistle but couldn’t fault it by pressuring it a few times manually (or should that be orally???) 😉
