    Re: Hob (Induction) help

its usually the main pcb that causes the problem, sometimes its the ‘touch’ board….best to replace both (not sure about that model but on many the two boards come as one lump)

Re: SMEG OVEN FAILURE – HELP PLEASE

There’s not really a lot you can do to check for yourself unless you have a multimeter and the neccessary skill/qualifications to use it.
The checks you have already done point to an electrical fault within the oven which may indeed be the clock.
Sometimes when there is a ‘power outage’ the supply doesn’t simply switch on and off cleanly, there can be some very nasty ‘spikes’ druing the process which can damage delicate electronics (e.g. your oven clock)
In this case the oven will not funtion as a matter of safety because the power for the oven passes through the clock to enable an auto function set by the clock (timed cooking). This is a requirement of British safety standards to prevent a previously set clock switching the appliance on when power is restored and the appliance may be unattended.
You may like to ask around the village if anyone else has suffered damage as a result of the power problems…if they have then you may have a case against the electricity supplier for causing the damage, and indeed i have attended some repairs where the electricity supplier had agreed to pay for the work.

Re: Ariston AFA 350 lower tray not washing properly?

Unlikely to be blocked elswhere…if there is enough pressure to reach the top arm then the bottom arm is being fed ok. Much more likely is there is wear to the lower arm and its spigot which will allow the arm to rise too far when the water is pumped in, causing it to foul the bottom of the lower basket. To confirm this remove the lower basket and run it again to see if the arm now rotates. If it does then you will need a new spray arm and spigot but this should be quite cheap and straightforward to sort.
If you need an engineer then have a look in Repairs@ for someone near you.

…well the machine is now un-confugered!….it was indeed a new faulty pcb from Bosch, and that’s a first for me!
    Anyone else had one before?

Does the machine appear to heat the water, and when it sticks does it wash or drain continuously, or does it sit there doing nothing?

    Re: Bosh sms6032 dishwasher

Very likely….if both spray arms are clear, and the food filter in the base is clean then there is probably a problem with control of the water level, caused by an internal blockage which would need an engineer to sort for you. Have a look in Repairs@ for an engineer local to you. It should be simple and straightforward to fix so well worth having done, these dishwashers are particularly reliable and durable.

Yes…check to top spray arm for food debris in the holes.
The arm can be carefully unscrewed from the base of the top basket for cleaning…’rattle’ the debris out through the central hole by tipping the arm backwards and forwards.

Yes andy…they do come with a configuration leaflet, mind you, you need a magnifying glass and a pin to set the switches on the board!

    Thanks BSH-MAN, i’ll check that when i return 🙂

    Here here!
As i said in a previous post…wasted emotion
Rest assured that the likes of this particular customer will make no friends amonst tradesmen of all kinds, and consequently will receive second rate or very expensive service until she changes her ways (something i doubt will ever happen)
So….as the good Doc Marten…ooops Martin lol says, let it rest for a while and she will go away 😉
