Re: hotpoint aquarius CTD00 condensor dryer

That is the case I’m afraid, the course of action is repair/replace/refund (trading standards use the same formula).

It may just be something quite straightforward that has caused this to occur even though it seems quite severe at the time. Of course, if it has been an extreme failure the engineer may not be able to repair it anyway so a replacement would be the only option 😉

The questions asked by Hotpoint and Currys are to try and ascertain whether the “smoke” was actually steam.

Please let us know what the engineer finds after the visit 🙂

Does the drum reverse direction or continually rotate in the same direction ?

You can download (if available) or order them directly from Whirlpool’s site 🙂

Top menu, services (drop down menu) then select user manuals.

I would phone GIAS on 0870 9502943 to check availabilty first, the list price is only £37.50 and you should get 15{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} discount from them as a non account holder as long as you tell them you’re trade etc 🙂

Re: Bosch WTA4408 – Not heating

Bosch quoted £69.32 plus VAT and carriage (£4.95) = £86.40, where did £59.00 come from ??

Or did they mess up as £59.00 plus VAT = £69.32 but told me it was excluding VAT 🙂

    Thanks for the info, interesting.

What’s the chance of getting a door handle for the above model ?

It’s a single build under oven in gold/rustic style.

    Re: Hygena AHY8112 – Leaking

This model appears to be made by a Chinese manufacturer called Haier, the pump from MFI is £15.99 plus VAT and carriage so not too bad.

Labour charges vary across the UK, if you check the repairs@ link below for an engineer you can check the likely costs directly 🙂

    Re: Belling IDW603 Dishwasher

They may be appointed spares stockists for Glen Dimplex (Stoves Belling etc) as well by now I guess.

They aren’t a wholesaler though, or weren’t. Only public sales so no discount structure.

It may be worth checking them though if they have all the info to hand 🙂

I can’t seem to find a website, any contact details please ?

Re: customers not collecting vacuum cleaners

I had to look in to exactly this some years ago, basically you have to warn them in writing that if the appliance isn’t collected after x days you will either dispose of or sell the item. The worse ones are the BER cleaners as it costs you to dispose of them.

One way round it is to charge a small deposit on all items brought in for repair, it stops 90{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of non collections even on BER as you can either deduct it from the repair bill or refund in full if BER.

The cheapest way to do the “in writing” bit is to give a reciept to the customer when they bring it in stating the conditions of collection times etc, a tear off from a repair docket (NEBS do them) is ideal.

    Hope that helps.

    Re: TDS disc

On the main page, click on the spanner icon near the bottom right, you can map the drive letters in there.

It should do it on install but more often than not it doesn’t 😕

Also follow the path to where the application runs from
    program files/electrolux part/tds offline/install I think from memory.

Edit the *.ini file in notepad making sure the drives all = C:/ or wherever the files are located 🙂

Almost certainly the compressor (motor) I’m afraid 🙁

There’s no easy way to be 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} sure without the correct test equipment and/or a spare starting device (relay), if you need an engineer to confirm, check the repairs@ link below 🙂
