If it wasn’t heating the water Meaty it wouldn’t have advanced pass the wash stage.
May be time for an engineer ?

ParticipantRe: new networks and existing.
Look what I just found issued on the 5th Feb this year:
* Servicepower Technologies first-half pretax loss £1.59 million vs £1.15 million; sees software business improving significantly in second half; new FSS business exceeded its expectations.
Hmmmm

ParticipantRe: Service Power?
Further details have come to light in the last couple of days.
Two of the UK contacts on their website for ServicePower are SBS Insurance who I beleive where at one point working closely with DASA on various projects. The other is Beaver Electronics who are owned by Dave Ince, ex NESN director.
After having seen a couple of calls sent from ServicePower, it appears they are using a very similar, if not the same, call handling software system as NESN.
JT is as far as I am aware currently employed as a salesman.

ParticipantRe: SMEG A1 – fast burner
The thermocouple is about £10, labour rates can cary quite a bit, generally for a gas engineer I would say between £60 and £80 for the service call.

1) can anyone enlighten me as to whether our machine and experience with SMEG is exceptional and whether there is anything more we can doOn the whole Smeg are generally reliable to be honest, there is the matter of the price though. £300 is not correct even including labour to replace the main circulation motor. Post the model number and I’ll check for you.
Have you tried phoning Smeg as they are normally very good as far as customer service goes ?

2) can anyone recommend a good mid-price brand – I have been told AEG & Bosch are pretty good? Both of those are OK, Bosch being my personal preference.

ParticipantRe: SMEG A1 – fast burner
Nice easy one, the thermocouple is either faulty or covered in grease.
Try cleaning it first, if that doesn’t work, you’ll need a Corgi reistered engineer to attend and replace the thermocouple.
You may find one in repairs@ or the directories if required.

I must admit, I’ve not seen one of these, looking at the exploded though, what are the two buttons for each side of the rotary controls ?
I’m taking a stab, but try pressing and holding them both in at same time for a few seconds and see what happens.

Yes he is, without doubt. He was employed as a sales guy and Brock etc are already realising this is a mistake as people have read UKW and are refusing to have anything to do with it 😀
X-point solutions never took off and never will, again, UKW blew it out apparently 😆
NESN are now aware of Dave Ince’s involvement and that ServicePower appear to have nicked their software, they got a copy of a job somehow 8)
More as I get it 😉

ParticipantRe: LG REFRIGERATOR GRT452GVA
LG are correct in what they say as far as the guarantee goes.
It works like this, Comet want extra x{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} discount from the manufacturer and they also want to keep all their customers “in house” so they strike a deal and get money knocked off the buying price and cover all of the warranty themselves, it’s not just LG either.
Also, as they are the retailer, they are 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} responsible as your contract is with them irrespective of who carries out any in-guarantee work.
Who asked Expert to inspect in the first place? If you did this off your own back then you are liable to pay them, if Comet asked them to attend on their behalf then they are and Expert should submit their report to whoever requested the visit.
If all this occured after the initial 12 months guarantee then it’s a different ball game as it them becomes an extended warranty which is essentially an insurance policy and the exchange rules etc all change, even if it’s written off Comet may only be liable to give you a refund on your policy cost or less in some cases. Read the smallprint on the policy document.
Hope this throws some light on it for you.
Dave.
