Yep, to give you a prime example, last week D&G fucked up and sent the “other” agent two calls in our area (we share some postcodes, but have them split amicably), after a quick phone call from him to make sure there was nothing untoward going on, within half an hour the two calls were on my desk. A quick phone call to D&G and they had a slight set up issue with some of the call centre staff and problem resolved 😀

To an extent, we have already seen changes of the type Richard refers to taking place.

I understand the point about “someone will take the work on if you don’t” but that isn’t always the case. Most of the manufacturers, insurers etc demand a minimum level of service, liability insurance and the relevent qualifications required to complete the work safely and within the law.

I can see a time sooner rather than later when the “cheap option” will no longer be available.

Hang fire, I may have the one you want.

I’ll check the one I have will fit your model and get back to you.

I don’t suppose you’ve seen the stat have you ? This one has BUZ60 on it and is an air temp capillary type.

The fan or the condenser is blocked with fluff by the sounds of it.

The air will constantly circulate via the condenser unit and will re-enter the drum via the upper part of the door seal and leave via a hose at the bottom or rear of the drum.

Yes, it should reverse the drum as far as I am aware on all condenser washer dryers.

As a rough guide Ray and both the pcb and the eeprom need replacing (worst case scenario) you will be looking at around £130 – £150 all in.

It will be one of four things, the heater itself, the front control thermostat, the timer or the most likely will be the heater control thermostat(s).

The latter are supplied as a kit of the two and is usually the problem.

To obtain a correct diagnosis and save yourself time and effort, you may wish to call an engineer. If you let us know your postcode or look in the directories section, there should be someone here that can help.

That should bring memories of a pretty revealing conversation to mind and why, in the end, I shut up. I tried, you tried, they didn’t. When someone is as intent on not listening as that then really, there’s no point in trying too hard.

And who would this be in reference to may I ask ? Not being there and all 😉

    Re: Neff Microwave, MW5965

It could be one of several things causing that fault Pete.

It’s probably number 1 on the list of microwave reported faults we see, the trouble is, one of a few things can cause exactly the same syptom.

As you say, it’s extremely dangerous prodding around inside microwaves due the high voltages and risk of microwave energy escaping.

Best bet is take it to a shop/workshop that repairs them on site, it will save you the cost of a call out.

    LOL 😆

That happened to me once while I was in an empty student let. The letting agent had given me the key and the wrong alarm code :eeek:

Two passing bobbies happened to hear the racket and stopped to see what was going on, found me frantically pushing buttons on the alarm main box while on the phone to the agents trying to get the right code. 😳

You really need the product code to identify these parts correctly.

It will be on the rating plate, prbably inside the door opening somewhere, or on the back of the machine. It will begin with 3????????

    Re: Hotpoint FF92 Problems

It could be a defrosting problem in the freezer stopping the flow of cold air getting to the fridge compartment or the fan isn’t running.

Either way these are best dealt with by an engineer to be honest.

If you let us know your postcode, we should be able to give you the info for someone in your area.

Lots of manufacturers CD’s mainly Toni.

We sell a lot of spares to the public and trade here so I make it my mission to get as much info available to me as possible, it reduces the incorrect and returning of spares problem.

Re: Early starts, are you up for it.

We used to have an engineer that enjoyed an early start at around 06.30, and many customers did take the early option as they could get the repair done before going to work.

These days we tend to stick to the 08.30 – 17.30 routine and have few problems with access generally, mainly due the average age of the Devon customer, many of who are retired or semi-retired.

I guess it’s a case of what works best for you in whatever area you are in.
