    Re: tricity sovereign cooker

Yep, you need to set the time of day first.

On the bottom row of buttons, press and hold the three on the left all at the same time, then turn the adjusting knob on the far right untill the correct time of day is displayed.

Once you’ve done that, you can set the oven temperature for both ovens via the timer unit by holding the relevent button down and turning the adjusting knob untill the desired cooking temperature is displayed, once you release the button, the oven will start up.

If though, the lights keep flashing from left to right and you are unable to set the time of day, the timer unit will be faulty as this was the most common complaint with them. New cooker time then I’m afraid as the timers are now obsolete.

Hope that helps, let us know please.

    Re: Hotpoint RF61P Unusual T’Stat

Well, if you clamp the actual insulated sleeve to the evap over the end of the capillary, it just won’t react as quickly. The “cold” will take longer to penetrate as it will have to cool the insulated sleeve first.

In general if I fit a universal VT9, even if the original had sleeving right to the end, I’ll leave the end of the new stat capillary open and fix it directly to the evaporator. Whether this is correct or not, I have very few problems, if any at all.

Friend, and added to the trade members last night by me.

I have verified he is in the white goods industry, but I agree, a dodgy name indeed.

Almost certainly the thermostat by the sounds of it.

Quite a simple repair (if that’s what it is of course) which should cost you around £60-£70 all in.

Let us know you’re postcode, one of the many engineers here may well be able to assist further with a repair for you.

I don’t think they are UK Whitegoods members, if you would be good enough to let them know where you got the number from – thanks.

Re: Hotpoint DWF40 dishwasher fault codes

This one is an Ariston clone by the looks of it.

Count the flashes, there should be a pause between them.

The fault code will only be a general guidline for engineers, they are rarely a definitive diagnostic tool and often unreliable. Plus they are copyright protected, hence Merloni’s lack of response to your requests.

    Alnost certainly the motor IMO.

    Part number 4819 361 58264 – list price is £110.28 ex VAT 😯

Yeah, they do a functional test before starting the main programme, there should be a fault code of some desription I think as well, not too sure on that one though.

Try looking in the known fault codes section in this forum, all the Whirlpool codes are there.

    I have ! 😀

One white one on it’s way, sorry about the packing, I just managed to catch the post before it left, but I had to open the Beko manual packing and whacked it in with that.

    Hi Ian.

I would suggest you ask an engineer to check this out a it sounds suspiciously like a loose or poor connection somewhere to me.

Both of those faults are synonymous with the above 😉

Thanks BTW, it’s on it’s way back now.

It’s similar to a Classica/New Wave so it’s not a tub out, it’s basically the same as the Hotpoint in many ways, front off, drum frontplate etc.

You’re guys are correct in one sense as there is no kit for these that I am aware of, you need to identify the bearing size (or order the bearings individually from Hoover at silly money), order the bearing seal (about £12) and the tank seal (about £6).
