It’s actually not that expensive Ian. Connect list it at £5.85, although it is a special order.

Nope, I’d go along with that general advice.

    YAY ! 😀

    Cold beer then.

Don’t turn it up too far or you’ll be drinking at Alex’s temperature, that stuff, you need a pressure washer to get your glasses clean afterwards.

Click on the link below for your manual, it is there 😀
It takes a while to load mind you.

If the appliance is totally dead, where does it connect to the power ? Most integrated appliances are connected directly behind them, which means pulling it out of it’s housing.

Apart from that, yes, engineer time. If you pop your postcode up someone here may be able to help, or have a look in the directories.

I think there’s a kit for these, IWMS (“inlet water management system” I assume)

You may well have fitted that already though as the metering tank is part of the kit, as far as I know, you get the inlet valve and pressure switch in the kit as well.

Alex will probably have more info.

I would say 99.9{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} that the thermostat is the culprit then.

It’s £22 inc post and VAT.

If you would like me to order one for you and send on, send me an email and I’ll get that arranged for you.

In wonder what will happen when poor service levels adversly effect sales, this isn’t too far off with some at the moment I don’t think 😉

Nope, you will not be excused for that 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆

Seriously though, if it doesn’t get damn cold in there once you’ve tried that, it will be a matter of either the compressor is failing or there is a possible system gas leak. Either way it’s not a DIY job to put right, and both fairly costly. Let us know what happens.

    Re: DASA!

I have noted it on the dasanet site Alex where it was posted last night by Walter.

Mentioning that this could effect the attendence to both meetings.

It will also cause some people travel problems at the least as they will want to attend both.

I have my own thoughts on who decided on the date, and if my suspicions are correct it goes along rather nicely with a little snippet I learned today of one of those people, enough said on that though 😉

By the way, wtf does temerity mean ? I didn’t think us down yer spoke posh ! 😆

    Re: Hygena Thermostat

I wouldn’t condemn the thermostat just yet, the way I desribed only eliminates the temperatre control side of the thermostat, not the electrical contacts inside it.

The optimum way is to bypass it completely as you suggested and see if the fridge gets too cold, if the compressor and system gas are all ok it will freeze eventually.

It’s just not good practice to do this, nor should I condone or advise on messing about with electrical connections (eu regulations and all ;))

Just bear in mind that a thermostat is merely a switch, there are no neutrals, so all three leads will at some time be live, if you connect them all together you won’t blow the fuse, but it will essentially bypass the thermostat.

Just make sure it’s disconnected from the mains when you pull the leads off though !

    Re: Hotpoint FFA90S Fridge Freezer

2 degrees is quite cold enough for your cold beer, I’m drinking one right now from my fridge set at 2 degrees and it’s fine. Any colder and it would have ice in it !

As I said, give the thing time, it takes anything up to 12 hours, sometimes even longer for a new fridge to settle down and reach it’s correct running temperature.

    Dave.
