customer did say he renewed brushes about a month ago will have a look to see if hes done something not quite right, but the machine does have motor action,so cant really see that as being the problem, but if ive got no ideas then im not going to ignore someone elses so will arrange to go back, and check, anymore comments welcome.

Thanks for comments, and Mike you seem to be right, replaced element and everything seems ok.
but to be honest still dont understand why, its not like you can turn on an element to half heat, it goes full blast till temperature reached,
could someone educate me.lol
also like to thank Martin for his input.
thanks again Darren Bewildered. but happy its working.ddirect
ParticipantRe: Neff b1420
Mike do you not think if it was fan element it would trip no matter what temperature, after all the element will heat till the regulator cuts it out, so if it was element, i would have thought it would trip no matter what temperature, i know we get elements that go open circuit after a short period of time after the appliance is switched on, so i understand your reasoning.
and yes your probably right, i may be putting to much thought into this, and like you say, the element aint that expensive so trying one would be a quick way to rule it out or possibly fix the problem.
thanks for your thoughts.

ParticipantRe: having a bad morning 2 x Hotpoints
asked the young lady who put the plug on the machine, she said she didnt know, but did mention her brother had fitted the machine. can only presume where it was before needed the moulded plug removed to fit, hence a knew plug has been fitted, will see if i can find out. will also have a look at the board. thanks for the suggestion.

regarding saturdays i try to keep them clear, but if the week preceeding was not so good, the mortgage gives me a bit incentive to get out there.lolddirect
