Re: Boy dies in Tumble Dryer horror

if it was just a case of the boy climbing in and closing it behind himself then the new dryers with push to start are the way forward
if a sibling put him in there for a game and started it then there is no stopping that kind of thing, without putting a lock that requires an adult to open it even when the machine is not in use to begin to load
cant see that being wanted by the manufacturers or the punters

    Re: Hotpoint WF741 Pump filter

i have looked on connect and there is no wf741 or similar
despite me having 2 in my shop
although searching for just hotpoint pump filters on there own does bring up a few reuslts so it is possible if you search hard enough or ring them

Re: Boy dies in Tumble Dryer horror

how did he get in and close the doorbehind him?
also surely the door would have been easy enoguh to push open or even be knoecked open
do we know what kind of dryer it was?

what a terrible thing to happen

    Re: Hotpoint WF741 Pump filter

the machine does require the entire filter if you remove the back half the water will not pump out correctly that is what the inner housing is there for have seen this several times on indesit and hotpoint appliances

    Re: Yellow Pages 2011

we are no longer having an advert in the yellow book as i really dont believe anyone even looks at it anymore every time i need a phone number i google it
every time i get a yellow pages delivered it goes straight in the bin or if my other half gets it first it goes in the bottom of a drawer and stays there 3 years till we empty the drawer
it is a pointless and outdated item and if 2011 is not the last one then i really cannot see there being many more

gotta say i dont clean the carbon out on every excell motor but i do get the jumping past spin and then strip the motor down
and i carry a black marker pen in my box to make sure i put the motor back together correctly

    Re: Hotpoint Drum Paddles

they are fit for the purpose of washing clothing not for coins
although they are indeed flimsy and more easily broken than on a zanussi
and by that definition you could wash half a brick in some machine and not break the steel paddes but it would break a zanussi plastic one

    o dear gone daft now

    Re: transit damage

believe me i stopped selling these cheapo rubbish as i found that they where generally bought by people with hotels or 12 kids and expected to be a quality appliance but i have been overuled due to the amount of people who wont spend anymore

imo this machine will fail and cost the comapany more to repair and deal with the muppet owner than we have made selling it

i have had vibration issues with these i generally just stick a rubber washer between the mount and the motor seems to do the trick

    Re: transit damage

yes he was there on delivery and it was not mentioned then
most of my recons go four between 150 and 200
as to how i can sell this with confidence i have to say it was not my choice to build this particular machine i mainly do bosch and hotpoint for refurbs
but even these i do not sell with the confidence i once did

as for further discount he has no chance and this is the first instance of this problem i have had in almost 14 years at the job

and as for his money back i dont wanna give it him back the way i see it he bought it as seen and i sent 2 guys in a van 2 deliver this up 2 flights of stairs and i dont see why they should work for nothing

i just wondered where i stood in case he asked for discount as in did i have to give him any legally or a refund

once this matter is settled i think i will be adding a clause into my invoices saying damage must be pointed out in delivery
