    Re: ISE 10 Door leak

    Hi Jim

Check the thick black rubber seal on the inside of the door around the door glass to see if there is a build up of crud or lint on it.

    Hi Bri,

We are forever being backed into a corner over one thing or another with manufacturers and work providers trying to squeeze the very last drop of blood out of the contract with the old blackmail technique of ” You’ll loose the work if you don’t do it ! “

We all have to draw our own lines in the sand as to just how far we are willing to be pushed and determine the limits we are prepaired to go to before we say enough is enough and no futher.

They will always go for the weakest link first and once they have got the guy to capitulate they use him as an example to all the others.

Only you, know how far your prepaired to go for them.

    Good luck with your meetings.

Re: Gas instalation issue (for any CORGI Guys out there)

    Hi Pat

Before attending any gas call always ask if the appliance has been installed correctly by a registered gas installer and always take the time to explain that should you find on arrival, that it hasn’t, then you may have to attach a warning label & disconnect their appliance if it has not been installed correctly.

Sorry to have to tell you but irrespective of wether you charged the customer or not as the last person to attend the call you will be regarded as the one responsible.

You should also state that your call charge will still apply regardless, it’s also a good idea to write down on the job sheet the name of the person that you explained this too.

Remember Pat, We didn’t make the rules we are just the poor sod’s who have to operate by them, if we are to keep our cards.

    Hi Mike,

Yours is about the 4 th or 5th door lock problem since we started selling them, so in all fairness given the volume we sell it is not exactly a problem.

Thing is with the ISE 10 because the door is attached to the tub assy rather than the outer casing you have to be a little firmer when closing the port hole door as it tends to move backwards slightly on the dampers when closing it.

ALL THE BEST FOR THE NEW YEAR BTW !

Re: ISE 5 mk 1 motor failures

    Hi Baz

I think you might be on to something there because the carbon brush holders fitted on the actual motors have a right angled lip at the end that must hold the carbons at a set angle.

I did notice that when we had the actual genuine carbon brushes as a spare part from the manufacturer they came without this lip ie very similar to the hoover ones we use now.

Jim as you see more of these machines than anyone else could you give Baz’s idea a try and report back please.

I must remember to use asterix’s in future as any one who knows me must realise i would never call any one an Idiot.

I see DSG’s debts got a mention on national GM NEW’s this morning.
I’ll bet there are a few sphinctas twitching at connect today.

Might be an idea to post up a request for a statement from CDSL if the worst should happen. i.e. what would be thier policy regards payment to agents for completed work :rolls:

Alex, those that have decided to continue with them are only digging an even bigger hole for themselves. I’m sorry but by allowing MFI mk2 to re start with a clean slate makes them compicit to a degree, as it devalues us all and encourages other twats to try the same stunt. If they sh1t on you once they’ll do it again.

Just like you I don’t want to see any service provider suffer, Hell the jobs tough enough when things are running normally but rest assured others will be watching to see if MFI mk2 pull this off.

We have already seen the band of theives called gbdar playing agents for numbty’s by paying some who they know will pop them if they don’t and leaving the small one man bands hanging out to dry.

We have even seen our beloved Connect trying to dodge thier responsibilities to agents over the Soverign debacle when they try to say that they have no duty to pay for work they passed.

The sooner they all go to the wall the better.

Machines will still need fixing and those of us lucky enough to survive will be there to fix them hopfully with no middlemen to cream off all the profit before a job has even been passed.

I’ve never professed to be the sharpest pencil in the box. I’ve been taken for a mug on more than one occassion but I can honestly say that I never let it happen to me twice by the same culprit.

    Hi Chris,

    F05 =
    Inadequate water
    Supply

    Make sure the water input
tap is totally open and that
    there is no water cut.

    Close the water input tap,
    separate the water input
hose from the tap and clean
    the filter at the connection
    end of the hose.

Water inlet valve can be out
    of order

There can be a problem with
    the cable connection of water
    inlet valve.

Floater switch can be out of
order or have a problem with
    the cable connection.

    Pressure switch of the heater
    casing group can have a
    mechanical or cable
    connection problem.

    Circulation pump can be out
of order or have a problem
    with the cable connection.

Electronic card can be out of
    order.

The other obvious experiment here is, is it possible to try it without the extention piece to see if it works. It may be timing out on empty, or the pump is not up to pumping the extra head of water.

I suppose when you’ve sold as many as Jim has your bound to get one or two. Still his customer is in good hands as he’s a Master at ISE.

    Re: gbdar creditors meeting

    Hi Rob,

Can I start by offering my sympathy for the position you and others find yourselves in through no fault of your own.

You must register yourself with the Receiver acting in this matter as a creditor of GBDAR and request that all necessary paperwork reqired to submit your claim be forwarded to you. Please do not think that GBDAR will have automatically done this for you.

Perhaps Jackal might be kind enough to furnish you with the contact details.

Once every thing has been settled such as the main secured creditors ie TAX, VAT, Bank etc. and last but by no means least the Receiver himself.
Any residue (if there is any of course) is shared out between the remaining registered creditors.

Many people will tell you that all the required form filling is a complete and utter waste of time and provided that all of the other unsecured creditors think that way then you may be in for a chance of getting something back.

My own firm had a similar senario a few years back when HOMARK went to the wall and my good lady (God love her) diligently plouged through all the required paperwork and form filling whilst at the same time having to listen to me telling her thart she was merely conducting an exercise in futility.

To cut a long story short, nearly 4 years after the event when we had long forgotten and both thought that, that was the end of that, she opens the post one morning and with a grin like a Cheshire Cat She waves a cheque for £250 under my nose saying “Who’s the fool now” !

Homark went bust owing us £800 so to get a third of it back was more than a pleasant surprise especially when we had considered it a total loss some three years previous.

So provided you like paperwork, I say give it a go, It’s got to be worth a punt.

    Best Regards

If you sell ISE on a regular basis then you are automatically granted acess to the ISE forum. If you do not have access then simply contact admin@iseappliances.co.uk where your account details will be checked and access granted.

    Hi Nige

We had one or two where the front lip of the drum was rubbing against the inner face of the door gasket but that usually showed up from the start.
Is there any wear in the bearings perhaps, allowing this to happen ?
