ParticipantHi thanks guys the problem is the customer somehow managed to push the shaft into the machine i recovered it but realised there was a spring or something missing as the dial is loose now , does the potentiometer come complete as from memory it looked like the housing is part of the facia thanks john

ParticipantThanks Dave i appreciate that however the thermistor i was refering to is the one on the heater assembly you normally have to buy the whole thing i am hoping to get a thermistor ( ntc ) only , thanks again John

Participanthi i called to look at this and found it was only the door plastic lug that operates the switch had snapped off , so i drilled a suitable sized hole and screwed a self tapping screw into the door , i also noticed the hinge needed the two screws tightening , i think that could have caused the lug to break off , considering the machine is only two yrs old and cost nearly £800 its a very expensive repair if you replace the door hope this helps thanks John

Participanthi just an update on this i fitted the lock the buzzing has stopped but no motor action i tried pushing the drum still no action , so i changed the capacitor and it worked .my thought now is did the capacitor cause the door lock to fail or did the door lock cause the capacitor to fail or was it just coincidence .if i get this again i will try a capacitor first as its much easier to change Thanks John
