ModeratorRe: New kitchen appliances for new kitchen build
Hi
There is nothing better than a Liebherr refrigeration appliance. For extra capacity why not consider a separate fridge and freezer? Put them side by side and reverse the door hinge on one to give you the side by side appearance.I personally like the Bosch, Neff and Siemens appliances. They are all from the same stable, prices will vary across the brands and products, but with a little research you can get the equivalent Bosch of a Neff cheaper. (Hope that last bit made sense) 😉
Gas everytime, more controllable and as you say power cut proof 😉 Induction hobs when they work are okay but repairs can be hefty if a board needs replacing. Don’t forget you may need to replace your pots and pans to one’s which have ferrous oxide base.

It’s true Andy 😉
You should be okay as a sole trader, but if you were to give a lift then I guess you would need one.

My contacts contact 😆 had one a long time ago and thought he got the info from TDS but having checked as I already knew it isn’t listed anymore.
So that lead has drawn a blank. You could try Lux technical on 03448 613 613 and see if that leads you anywhere.
In the meantime a trawl on the net gives demo modes here and here but they are off USA site. You never know it may help.

ModeratorRe: Zanussi Oven Hinges 94970007400 / model ZDM869X
Hi Nick
According to Pro Corner it’s a 1998 vintage appliance! Screenshot of info attached.Hinge part no. for the lower oven as you are aware is 50220847003. Google comes up with a supplier who has them in stock here at £18 each plus the usual postage I suspect.

I sent a text only this morning to my “contact” reminding him to ask the question of the senior engineer. I’m just waiting for a reply.

Sadly he doesn’t know the answer. However he is doing some jobs for them next week and happens to know the senior tech engineer who will probably know.
I have gone through all the tech memo’s for the appliance, the instruction manual and of course Google with no joy 😕
So watch this space 😉

This one came up a while ago which was not resolved IIRC.
I have an engineer coming to visit me tomorrow who until recently was an engineer for the Lux group I’ll ask if he can help.

ModeratorRe: FUSED SPUR CIRCUIT DISHWASHER
Hi
All dishwashers have moulded plugs. That said why not simply replace the switched spur with a single 13A switched socket? They are the same size so the existing back box can be used. Don’t forget to isolate the power first 😉
I have seen and done loads of dishwashers and washing machines on spurs over the years and I have yet to hear of a manufacturer invalidating a guarantee as a result.
Or it could be that the installers can’t or won’t connect to a spur.

ModeratorRe: Connect failing to process orders
It may not be Connect at fault it could be the couriers who deliver in your area who are not coping.
Are you ordering off the website?Don

Hi
None of the mainstream suppliers recognise it but there are a few Google entries for that number from American sites.
