If price is the only criteria then you will need to stay with Jual, pay more and use Boots, Sainsburys etc or for service and a higher price but with a flexible service and expert help and advice I would visit my local independant retailer.

    Hi earlybird

Avoid having a washer dryer unless you really have to, it’s much much better to have seperate appliances everytime. The only washer dryer that is any good is the Miele, everything else will be a compromise.

A good article here on washer dryers is a worthwhile read.

Re: Washer, Dryer and dishwasher for Β£750?

    Hi

Those are from the premium range, slightly better build, enhanced features and a five year warranty. No problems with the washers and the condenser dryers are more reliable than some of the others out there.

Don’t get many problems to be fair but spares can be a little slow compared to some of the other brands.

    Hi Mutley1

Either a Bosch or Neff (same family) are as good as you will get for under Β£500.

Re: Hacked Off About Internet Pricing?

When I think back fifteen twenty years ago when the net was in it’s infancy there wasn’t a price structure problem. Since then the net has grown at such an alarming rate and as we all know you can now purchase anything on the web. This in turn has affected the way in which manufacturers now trade on the web by offering silly discounts knowing full well that their own volume sales will increase as will market share and at the same time keeping shareholders sweet.

Some manufacturers have now realised the fact that their web activity has severely affected the bricks and mortar businesses who have been their sole outlet for the last goodness knows how many years. Dyson, BSH, Miele and Indesit group among others all offer some sort of incentive for high street retailers to stock and sell their products, whether it be a retro payment for {e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} increase of trade purchases year on year, display discount and discount for demo facilities and installation services. These manufacturers we will support and where possible will sell these products.

We sell our “services” like pre sales / post sales advice a lot more and how we can fit around customers needs when delivering as opposed to the net boys only normally able to give a day of delivery. If a hard sell is needed I have used the “what If” scenarios like if delivery does not arrive, it’s damaged or it it does not work on first use etc etc.
I have also been known to plead with manufacturers reps to get an improved price like a “damage allowance” or margin support, it does not always work but sometimes it makes a difference in getting the sale or not.

We do lose sales to the net but we also win sales from the big sheds so the merry go round carries on, you just got to keep doing what you are doing.

You aint going to please all the punters all of the time……

    Hi jaydog

As you are in France it will be easier to attack this problem on a local basis. I would visit your local gas cooker retailer or Bricolage to source a gas engineer who may be able to help.

Sorry but we are unable to advise on gas repairs due to forum rules.

Re: German made Bosch/ Siemens /Neff apliances

If it’s made in germany it will tell you on the product sticker normally behind the appliance door.

A quick sample search around the shop reveals that the Bosch Logixx washing machines, the Excell and Logixx dishwashers are stamped “made in Germany”.

The other ranges do not state country of origin, I am assuming these would be made in factories around Europe and possibly further afield.
