ModeratorRe: BEKO 767 S – Noisy on final spin and more
Out of the frying pan……………… 😆 armed with that amount of money I would go straight for the Bosch WAE24364 or the 1400 spin version WAE28364. Far better built, more flexible in use, good size wash, two year warranty, longer lifespan, I could keep going 😉 but I reckon that`s enough reasons to buy one.

Hi Paul
Don`t let it go any further than a hint 😉
Miele is about the best but you would need to pay around £1200 for one, the rest just don`t cut it.
A good read here on washer dryers will help to explain.
Seperate machines is the best way to go.

I don`t know of a 90cm canopy hood. The widest I can find is this DeDietrich which is 76cm wide. Even the specialist hood companies like Elica and Blanco don`t produce one.

Hi Phill
I would be looking to claim this against your accidental damage cover on your household insurance policy as it will probably be an expensive part to replace being stainless steel and all. An email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk should get the ball rolling for price and availability.

ModeratorRe: Gorenje Hotpoint Ovens I’m confused!
Hi
I like the Gorenje products, we have been a stockist for about ten years now and I can say that they are just as reliable as anything else out there.
The BO8776AX is a full multi function oven, enough cooking options for even the most serious of cooks. The five year parts and labour guarantee makes it a good proposition.
As for the Hotpoint openspace, I have not been asked about it here in the shop at all. So I guess there isn`t many out there in use which is probably why there are no reviews.
Have a look at the Gorenje ECT930AC 4 plate ceramic hob top which again has the same 5 year warranty, also the Neff T43P90 ( I am a Neff fan 😉 ) Ceramic and induction hobs all have pcb`s in them which can fail, glad to say not very often though. Induction manufacturers claim they use 40{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} less electricity compared to a ceramic hob, which is good saving in anyones book. If you decide on induction you will need to have iron bottom saucepans. Installation requirements are tighter on induction due to the cooling fans in them.
I am assuming the fridge is the AEG S72390KA6, much much better than any Samsung. It`s satinless steel outer and full length handle is typically AEG, but what I like about it is the in side is uncluttered allowing maximum storage in the space provided.
Extraction unit in a kitchen of that height is causing me a headache. I looked at Xpelair ceiling mounted fans who are one of main suppliers in the UK, their minimum height installation for kitchen units is 2.3 metres. If they are a no no then you could look at a canopy hood set into the ceiling instead of in the base of a wall unit, as you say hubby is quite tall so he would be able to reach the controls. The Neff D5855 73cm wide unit with a 400 cubic metre per hour extraction rate on maximum would be the better choice if you go for a linear 90cm hob. A good read here on cooker hoods should help.Essay returned 😀

On the Bosch front, the KAD62V50GB is now obsolete. KAN62V40GB no change for 2010, models KAD62S20 and KAD62V40, new versions due out in March.
Just waiting for the printed word which is due this week.
No news as yet on Neff.

Britannia Living produce an American fridge freezer in a choice of colours. Bosch and Neff have now entered this sector as well with one apiece so far.
Could be worth a look at a John Lewis store if you have one close to hand.

ModeratorRe: Moving a heavy washing machine into place…..
Hi Margaret
You will first of all need to remove the machine from the thick wooden plinth, then remove the two long transit bars before you start connecting the hoses and making sure you have water tight connections.
Sliding the machine in under the worktop is going to be a challenge on concrete floor, two strips of thin timber the same depth as the washer lined up to the the feet or a sheet of timber the same depth and width as the space, add a little washing up liquid on it and it should slide in.
If it were me having spent £649 on the Miele I would have it installed by an engineer. Easiest way to find one is to click the “find an engineer” in your post.

ModeratorRe: Hotpoint Aquarius VTD 00 tumble
Hi
Depends on budget really. A good value vented dryer which is easy and relativeley inexpensive to repair would be the White Knight 44AW, price wise around £150.
Another good choice would be one of the Zanussi`s, the ZDE47100 a much more solid machine price around the £190 mark.
Whirlpool also produce a good solid unit in the AWZ3303 also around the £200 area, however the parts a more expensive than the other two.
If you can go to it the ISE DV60W Vented dryer is a machine like no other out there, they are a well designed machine, extremely well built and have a full ten year warranty. Not the cheapest dryer out there granted, however with it`s ten year warranty it`s a very sound investment, should a repair be required, service is provided locally, probably by the same engineer who installed it.
