    Hi

Bosch / Neff group make mighty fine appliances as do Miele if you can afford to go the extra mile.

    Hi

Before you give them the order for the 718404i, that model is not a larder fridge in the true sense of the word 😉 it has a freezer over the fridge as shown here http://www.biasco.com/?gtkw=SK718404I The model number for the larder is SK918004i http://www.biasco.com/?gtkw=SK918004I

edit I forgot to add this http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … age&pid=17 which may help you choose.

adamhornsby wrote:I know you can release the door with the ring pull, but according to a user manual that I downloaded of the model we may be going for, there is a special lever tool that opens the filter flap, but I could not see this lever.

The yellow lever in question is in the plastic bag along with the instructions, which is behind the locked door if the machine isn`t connected .

    adamhornsby wrote:
What I can’t understand is, why would you need a lock to only release itself when there is power on, does the machine have to be connected to the mains socket and that switched on, or does the actual machine needed to be turned on too?

Machine needs to be connected and powered on at the socket for the door lock to operate.

So many questions about these. Does the W3922 have a light ring, and how noisey would it be with the brushless motor, quieter than the standard ones?

If you are referring to a drum light then yes it does http://www.miele.co.uk/Products/Features.aspx?pid=99 Brushless motors are quieter than their counterparts, but even they are extremely quiet.

I or should I say we, need to know how quiet the machine is as it is going to be sited in a kitchen dining area. How noisey are the condenser dryers too, because my aunt has a White Knight 797 and it sounds like a Boeing 747 taking off.

As noisy as the vented models, unless you have put trainers in to dry :rotl:

Any from the Maytag site to choose from http://www.maytag.co.uk/ . Also which finish you would like, bearing in mind that stainless steel clad will up the price. Pick a couple and then check out the prices on say tribal, kelkoo and pricerunner.

    Hi rh

Yep the AEG is a mighty fine beast, it`s about as large as you can get with the usual one year warranty. Alternatively there is the Siemens KS38RA90 which has the deluxe interior and a full five year waranty, while we are talking serious money we are talking the about the best you are gonna get.

    K.

    Quite true 😉

So forgetting the lower end of the market I have found three which are worth looking at. Due to the amount of people this machine is serving I have gone for double ovens of which the main one will be fan operated and the smaller one will be traditional heating. Also all three feature ceramic hobs for easy cleaning. Belling E336, Cannon C50EK and the Zanussi ZCE5200. IMO the Zanussi is probably the better produced machine followed by the Cannon and the Belling.

The only failures of any note on the Panasonics has been on the MCE3011 whereby the motors overheat. Apart from that I can`t recall any other major problems on any of the others. maybe I`ve been lucky 😀
