ModeratorRe: Manufacturers 2006 changes
Thought it was about time I did an update on this thread. Don`t want K shutting this forum down cos it`s not being used 😉
We have now become a Hotpoint centre. Which means we stock 21 agreed pieces from across the range which are guaranteed to be in stock all the time, with improved purchase terms. Automatic point of sale and promotion material. If any of the sheds etc have a special offer running at sale time then an equivalent model will be available to the centres too. New laundry is arriving in as we speak albeit in bits and pieces with the New refrigeration range due out to sometime in June.
New Bosch product is arriving, washers are now available in stock. The models are basically the same as last years with the exception that touch control option buttons are now being used instead of the microswitches. new refrigeration models should be available form mid May.
Whirlpool new models like the AWOD4305 have now followed suit to cold fill only and also has the central programme selector. Existing models like the AWO3761 is still hot and cold. Could be a bit confusing for a while for us and the public alike.
Overall it appears that laundry has just had a slight makeover, while refrigeration has had improvements made hence the new ranges.
I will raise some reviews I promise Ken

ModeratorRe: Poor wash complaints, new Hotpoint
We have sold quite a few Hotpoints recently but I have not had that as a complaint I must admit. Only complaint customers have is when you tell them that they are now only cold fill, but once you explain how it works they are okay.
Hotpoint FEW12 has a super rinse option on it HTH.

Have a look at the Bosch WTE86304 with a two year guarantee or the Siemens WT46E386 which has a five year warranty. Both are from the stable of BSH. Good nationwide backup too. Or as turbo said if you can go the extra mile then the Miele.

ModeratorRe: Ceramic hob without controls
Hi Pete
IIRC Gunkol was Turkish made by Teba. If you post up the model number you never know 😉 someone may be able to help.
Otherwise I think it will be a new hob ( with controls) I`m afraid to say. The choice of ceramic and induction hobs is immense these days some have touch while others are the usual twist variety. Good quality makes Bosch, Neff and Siemens. The middle range Belling and Hotpoint.

Hi Matt
In that budget range, take a look at the Hotpoint UE47X. Good build in it`s price range, multifunction oven, stainless steel finish and also comes with a five year parts guarantee too. Bear in mind that with the five year parts warranty repairs are carried out by the manufacturers own service network. Current Hotpoint labour charge is £89.98 Inc VAT. Or alternatively you could always return here for an engineer if required 😉 .
I am not familiar with the CDA range, however someone else will give good advice on them for you 😉

Hi Elph
Go for a full size machine better value for money in the longer term. Have a look at the vented machines less to go wrong with these , As long as you can vent it to the outside with the usual flexible hose. Hotpoint, Creda, Whirlpool or White Knight are all reputable brands worth taking a look at.

Hi Mike
Take a look at the Bosch / Neff range. Personally I like the neff U1722 double built under oven. Lots of good features, well built appliance, two year guarantee, comes in stainless steel and is in the right price range too. Appliance dimensions 717mm high 594mm wide and 550mm deep. The carcass will need to be removed in order to fit. It may need just a short plinth to take up the the height to the underside of the worktop which is usually around 860mm.
Link here if you want to see the spec of the appliance.

Hi elphie
The only compact condenser dryer I know of is the Zanussi TC180 which is only slim depth spec available here.
Normally condenser dryers are 60cm square. All the compact dryers I have ever seen have been vented. A typical size for a compact would be 67cm high 49cm wide and 48cm deep.
Could it be that in your last property it was on a permanent vent from the rear ?
