Heat from the rear of the appliance would need to dissapate. So ventilation at the top rear would be good also probably half an inch either side would help keep things running nicely.
As for the height restriction can you gain that little extra, as it will affect the nett capacities if you drop back to 180.

Anyhow reviews are currently under construction on a word document and as new models are now coming through I am now busy tapping away in the evenings 🙄 .

The problem with those type of machines was that capacity was the main factor. The cabinets are quite thin so yes while the storage was fine the energy efficiency was not very good compared to today`s standards.
The nearest I can find from the mainstream suppliers would be the Bosch KGV34325GB which is 192L in the fridge, 112L in the freezer and stands 185cm high this comes with a two year guarantee and is an A rated machine. http://www.boschappliances.co.uk
Gorenje produce the RK6356W which is 185 high with a nett capacity of 204L in the fridge and 118 in the freezer. This also comes with a two year cover too. Again you can see this here http://gorenje.co.uk
personally I like the Bosch appliances 😉
Another option would be to look at seperate fridges and freezers if space allows.
let us know the outcome.

Hi
Yep Bosch every time they come with a two year guarantee have an excellent build, good range of programmes and temperatures and the service back up is good too.
The only thing I cannot work out is if its semi or fully integrated. The position of the controls lead me to fully but the parts listing for a APL8224 says it`s a semi integrated model ❓ .
So we`ll go for both 😉
Bosch semi integrated machine SGI43EO2GB comes in white, black or stainless steel control panel and the fully integrated model SGV53EO3GB.You can see them here http://www.boschappliances.co.uk
Your`e local retailer will be a good start point for professional service and good aftercare.

The large pack is for putting into you`re coolbag or picnic hamper to keep the wine and food chilled 😀 . Or can be used for you`re frozen food shopping while you travel home.

ModeratorRe: another joke.
There was a man who worked for the Post Office whose job it was to process all the mail that had illegible addresses.
One day just before Christmas, a letter landed on his desk, simply
addressed in shaky handwriting to “God”. With no other clue on the envelope, he opened the letter and read,“Dear God,
I am an 83 year old widow living on the State pension. Yesterday someone stole my purse. It had £100 in it, which was all the money I had in the world and no pension due until after Christmas. Next week is Christmas and I had invited two of my friends over for Xmas dinner. Without that money, I have nothing to buy food with. I have no family to turn to, and you are my only hope. God, can you please help me?”
The postal worker was really touched, and put a copy of the letter up on the Staff Notice board, at the main sorting office where he worked.
The letter touched the other postmen and they all dug into their pockets and had a whip round. Between them they raised £96. Using an official franked Post Office envelope, they sent the cash on to the old lady, and for the rest of the day, all the workers felt a warm glow thinking of the nice thing they had done.
Christmas came and went. A few days later, another letter simply addressed to “God” landed in the Sorting Office. Many of the postmen gathered around while the letter was opened.
It read,
“Dear God,
How can I ever thank you enough for what you did for me? Because of your generosity, I was able to provide a lovely dinner for my friends. We had a very nice day, and I told my friends of your wonderful gift – in fact we haven’t gotten over it and our Vicar is beside himself with joy. By the way, there was £4 missing. I think it must have been those thieving b**tards at the Post Office.”

vanessa
None of the mainstream suppliers produce a built in under counter frost free freezer 🙁 .
The only supplier that currently produce a range of freestanding is Hotpoint. The FZA34 which is available in polar white, graphite and sandstone which is a standard 60cm wide appliance which will fit in under a worktop you can see it here http://tinyurl.com/cew6u

ModeratorRe: Will it fit?
Hi
According to Bosch product specification and installation guide the total depth is 550mm. In addition it also has a cutout along the bottom rear to accomodate skirting board / pipes of 90mm high and 60mm deep. Height is 810- 870 mm and width of 598mm.
Hope this helps.

Do these muppets in the superstores get any training at all?. And why do customers believe them over engineers. 😕
The superstores do get training but not where it is really needed IMO ie on products. What they get is training on extended warranties, store cards and accessories which is where the margins are greater.
Visit an independent retailer for the best and correct advice.
boro you do have my sympathy.

My reccomendation would be to go for the Bosch or Neff range. The build is better, functions and ease of use is superb. They now come with a two year guarantee subject to you registering appliance and the back up is good.
Try the Bosch HBN13M520B or HBN13M220B.
Or on the Neff side the U1422WOGB or the U1442WOGB.You can view them here http://www.boschappliances.co.uk
and http://www.neff.co.uk
Bear in mind if you are looking at stainless steel finish the price will increase by about £60 or so.Don
