Moderatorthe only reason is lasted longer was the motor was running half speed
once they all changed at date code 02 all went down hill as you know
dont think i ever changed early clutch shoes or the motor because the pump leaked. never had the early pedestal corrode and push the seal off or the gearbox lower housing wear out and leak oil
think i have a few motors sitting upstairs but am finding stuff all the time as i start a clear out to save anyone after me needing 10 skips lol

Moderatori take it the way you are talking is it has to be stopped for 20 mins or it wont start which sounds like an overheat problem
have you tried putting wetter clothes in it when it stops to see if it will restart immediately

Moderatorfirst thing to check is the timer
it can be in off mode even though the time displays so check that first
after that you need to be able to use a multi meter to check components for continuity
my first check would be the over heat stat often located at the back of the unit
I would need more info to be able to look up the oven and there will be a 10 digit no , often beginning with a 7 which will help me know which unit you have

Moderatorcorrect
actuator contains a heater, when switched on it extends . its not quick takes 15 seconds or socheck the feed components around the triac as they sometimes blow to. there is often other triacs with identical circuits to copy from
as long as the main chip output did not blow it should fix it

Moderatorok not got one but if you feel brave and your pump is suitable
the 4 pole and 2 pole pump were essentially the same. the difference was the impellor had 2 less fins and the drive pulley was smaller
there is a seller on ebay selling the early pump ( £16). if your pump is an aluminium base with screws holding a cover on you may be able to remove the pulley (roll pin ) and swop it over. if your impellor shaft is damaged you will have to trim off 2 of the pump vanes on the new impellor

Moderatorand when you contact the company you get
“Good Morning
Thank you for your messageSadly we do not have this part available im afraid.
I would recommend looking on a website called Spares2go or a eBay seller called recycle-appliances.
They have universal parts and sometimes actually have Cookology parts specifically,They may have this part available.
Hope this helps”

Moderatorsomeone has the previous pump for sale on Ebay
wont fit yourson model 1504 date code 02 they introduced the motor you have and the pump. At the same time they took off the lower gearbox bearing support which meant the the lower gearbox bearing wears and starts to leak oil. This led to the pinion wearing in the box
previous motor ran at half the speed and had aluminium clutch shoes like car brake shoes. because pump was running half the speed it had 4 pump blades the later has only 2. That pump lasted that long the common fault on them was the rubber valve used to fail and bounce causing the outlet hose to pulsateit was a cost cutting exercise but a much more inferior machine

Moderatorits a mains operated actuator
i think you will open the timer and find the operating triac with a hole blown out of it
Dave

Moderatori would try running it with the front cover off
that way you can watch the activator to see if it works
also if the old activator went pop inside it may have damaged the board

Moderatorneed to know which dryer you have but if its one of the ones with the water tray at the bottom then there are 2 valves
if you remove a full draw the draw has to seal so it does not leak while your emptying it and there will be water left in the machine so that also has a valve to seal it while the tank is out
Dave

Moderatorwell you have to remember its not your fault
