That’s why I used ‘ inverted comma’s ‘ on the word capitulted.
Even now I bet someones schemeing (possible spelling error) on how to ring the bell to start round 2 .( If thay already havn’t).
I have a strong suspicsion I and Others will be their collateral damage.
I am now truley getting pissed off at being used as a pawn in there game of chess. (Chess -a game of strategy played by intelligent people)
Or are we chips in a game of poker ( Poker – a game of chance played by people who like to gamble)
Gambling with our livelihoods. I dont like this thought.Sorry to prattle on been drinking. 9.20 Hic. Heavy Day…..

Correct, but what is it, protection of work , protection of his agents!!!
I find myself between a rock and a hardplace and don’t know which way to turn. My guess is I won’t know which way to turn until it happens. I as well as others have muted u can’t trust either of the parties concerned.

I saw that , But why should I lose area because Ele M/C and RF want control and a cheap price for doing the job, thats the only reason for setting up 200 agents, so thay can threaten each agent by pulling the work from the individual. As u know ther are people out there who will do the work for less.
If they want the job doing properly they should respect us, and not go behind our backs putting other agents in our area, You more than anyone should know I will work for them but I will not have the piss taken out of me from the start, just as you wouldn’t.Better the devil u know.

Oh them jungle drums do beat fast dont they!
In a nut shell.
There was a large member meeting on Thursday. Which was well attended by a lot of old agents and new.(most of them being large service providers). An issue was raised about the Electrue system where the agents on it have lost post codes. (this is fact ask JP and Me).
A majority decision was made to come off there system from Monday. As I see it only to protect NESN agents workload, especially as a lot of agents have recruited engineers and invested a lot of money.
As u may know Electrue (Ele) have been setting new agents up in every area. This decsicion will affect their new agents as NESN will take back control of the job.
JT obviously has other ideas. But the majority decision was made against a work provider (Ele) and from memory I do not ever recall a large group of sevice agents ganging up on a workprovider (albeit with an other work providers blessing).
In the short term I cannot see NESN or the agents their keeping the coverplan work, but would u want to if u were being shit on by Ele /coverplan or RF. U only have to remind people about the mastercare contract of the past and who ran it. and look at who’s running it now and what he is doing ( 200 agents nationwide ? )
If u want to be an Ele agent outside of the NESN agreement wear a big hat because u will be shit on. (IMHO)
P.S. that doesn’t mean I wont consider it at the right price!

ParticipantAlex, I had the ‘Federation of small businesses ‘ in to see me last week. they left me an info pack (which I haven’t had chance to read yet) but for 300 a year (depends on no. of employees) they will help with lots of employment issues.,such as contracts of employment,Health and Safety, procedures for sacking. They can also give preferential rates on insurance,Credit card charges on POS machines, and they also assist with tax investigation by HMG.
Within 2 months I will have recovered my membership on credit card charges alone so well worth it.This may be of use to you on this issue so i’ll post their contact details on Monday for you.

K.
I think our 200 strong membership shows what people think of our future. My PERSONAL opinion is that the big multiples have screwed it up for us all by fighting for market share and large turnover by holding down the price of appliances. (How many times have we heard of one of the largest of these only been kept afloat by it’s own insurance cover premiums ?).
That magical word ‘turnover’ it certainly helped Powerhouse and Northern Electric keep solvent ! I wonder if they would still have been around today if they had concentrated on PROFIT.Flipper
ParticipantI don’t think that’s a bad summary.

Participant****ing expensive sack barrow, is it motorised! But I get the point. It’s the same one we’ve all been ‘complaining” about, eventually the work providers who haven’t been listening, will realise we are not ‘complaining’ but simply talking basic economics and looking to the future for our businesses and theirs.
Our company has had 3 work providers/insurance companies go belly up in the recent past. What worries me is that because of this dilution of providers I have now got bigger eggs in a smaller basket, If one of these eggs breaks,I wont just have egg on my face we will probably follow them.
Who’s next to go bust a retailer. a workprovider, or a manufacturer.
None of us can insure our debters because we can’t afford to. So we just have to risk taking long term debt on, or we risk losing the work because we end up putting people on stop all the time.
It’s a piss poor situation that have to put up with – or do we!Flipper

ParticipantIf anyone wants sameday service they will have to pay a premium. That premium in my humble opinion shoud be at least £65.00 + vat. This is to cover the cost of of cancelling other jobs already booked, to make up for the low 1st time hit rate and to pay for keeping engineers light.
