ParticipantRe: comet…again!!!
Taken from the proposal submitted prior to the sale to Opcapita.
It is the
Purchasersβ current intention to conduct the business of Comet as a going concern for at least 18 months from the Completion Date
They were obviously clever in the way it was phrased, at the time they intended to keep it going for at least 18 months but didn’t say they definitely would.Flyman
ParticipantRe: Bit of advice RE – COMET
Happy its all sorted in your favour Bob. Its bad enough changing jobs without hassle like that. Just waiting for the 25th of this month to see if they owe me or I owe them! They didn’t pay my redundancy on the 14th day as expected even though I phoned in the morning and they said it was being paid that day. When I phoned the next morning they said I wasn’t being paid it as I had RESIGNED! After a very heated discussion and telling them I had worked 2 weeks beyond my redundancy date to get them out of the s**t the money was in the bank within 2 hours.

ParticipantRe: Range Cooker In Manchester
If its the Beko built one the right hand oven thermal cut-out (210110544) also cuts off the power to the ignition unit. Nice easy job for someone.

Orange wires snapped on the sensor stuck in the hose from the bottom of condensor duct to tub. Normally shows as the dryer counts down every 30 seconds instead of every minute. π

Probably thermal fuse type which is inside a brown rubber sleeve clamped to a metal bracket halfway down back right hand side of oven. Has been superceded by a cut-out stat kit. Part number 082625792.

Thermal cut-out on the oven can also feed one or two of the hob elements. π

ParticipantRe: belling 646hsi wiring diagram needed please.
Was the replacement stat identical? If it is a creda built cooker they did have two different stats fitted which were numbered the same but actually switched differently inside so had to be wired differently on the front switch.

ParticipantRe: Zanussi WJD1667W drier issues.
Sequence should be:-
1. Dryer fill solenoid operates.
2. Pressure switch senses water level rise and operates drain pump.
3. Pressure switch senses water level drop and puts power to LOWER dryer element.
4. Dryer ntc senses heat from LOWER element and operates dryer fan and switches on TOP dryer element. If the solenoid is working ok and when on diagnostics the fan works and you are getting power to the elements then I would say the lower element is faulty. If that is OK then it must be a pcb fault.

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint Hardware key mk2
Don’t bother as they appear to be phasing out the hardware key. A lot of the latest machines have a new platform module called arcadia. If you plug a test key in to these by mistake (and the socket on the outside of the machine is identical) it can blow both the module and the test key. π₯

ParticipantRe: H/Point WF840 – F03 NTC or Module?
Think this is a safety feature of the machine. It believes the ntc is faulty so does not know if the water in the drum is boiling hot. It then does the fill and empty deliberately to flush any hot water out of the machine. As to whether it is the ntc faulty or the pcb is just not recognising it i will leave up to you.

ParticipantRe: wf741 fill level too low
“Clothes dry in the middle” is the normal complaint if the customer is using the wool wash program for normal washing. It is one of the shortest washes but is not suitable for a normal load due to its was action.
