Two year warranty on the Samsung, not sure about the others. Have had very few major problems with the Samsung. 🙂

Latest machines now come with very small surface mounted eprom. If you order a new module it will come with a socket for the standard size eprom, which you will have to order as an extra 😕 Same on the new Hotpoints.

Put the old module back in then go into fault system to check the fault code and it should give you E91,E92 etc. Have found in the past that if there is a fault on the machine it will not let you configure a new board. Have had a few problems with the small ribbon cable between the two boards, it would be worth while trying a new one of those in if you have one.

Re: Removing Cover on Samsung SR-S22…

Remove the top light panel by removing the three screws. Remove the two small vent covers and undo the screws behind them. Remove the two bottom screws behind the water bottle (if fitted). Warm the edges of the back panel with a hair dryer to stop the cold plastic from cracking and then it is just a case of trying to get your finger in one of the top corners and pulling towards you. be very careful as it comes away as the fan motor cables to the sockets are quite short.

Please make sure the appliance is unplugged before you work on it. :zap:

    Re: Electrolux Fridge freezer

The defrost cycle will operate about every 12 to 16 hours when the compressor and fan will switch off and the defrost element will switch on. The element will cope with the thin layer of frost which has built up over the previous 12 hours. If the door has been left open then the appliance would probably have run continuosly with lots of warm moist air entering and freezing on the evaporator. The element would not be able to cope with this. When the defrost cycle is finished (20 to 30minutes) the evaporaor would still be blocked with ice therefore resticting the airflow from the fan around the freezer and possibly the fridge. The appliance will then continue to run continuosly trying to get cold and make the ice build up even worse. Take the previous advice and defrost for at least 24 hours and everything should be back to normal. 🙂

Good machines, easy to work on and at the moment they appear quite reliable. Don’t know what spares position might be in the future. 😀

Seem to remember on these that if you lost the hot supply and the machine filled with just cold water in the winter months it would be too cold for the range of the thermister and it would register as a fault. The modification at the time was to fit a small resistor across the thermistor contacts to give a minimum reading for the pcb. 🙄 May be wrong as trying to think back 20 years!

Not seen one of those since the mid nineties 😀 Used to be out as the Servis Secret. Not a bad little dishwasher but a pain in the back to work on as you had to lift them out of the runners to do anything on them.

Thanks guys. Checked complete appliance for insulation resistance, infinity on everything! Hooked up a new element, still the same 😕
Now down to checking every individual wire for continuity. I will not be beaten by a bl**dy machine 👿

E22 – Problem with water drain during drying or drying condenser blocked. Small pressure switch is closed on “full”.

Check it is draining ok and the dryer condenser is not blocked with fluff. If still a problem then clean out the manifold air chambers.

Dave, if you find a solution to this please post it as we have two of these on the go at the minute with the exact same problem! 😥
Only light is the mains, one beep at switch on then they will not do anything. Operate the antiflood and the pump will run and the fault display comes up. Replaced the module, exactly the same. Tested every thing on the machine, exactly the same. Connected new drain pump, wash pump, exactly the same. Tried another module, guess what, exactly the same. Gave up for a few days then decided to have another go, switched the thing on and it worked 👿 – for about twenty minutes before it came up with drain fault. Would not reset so operated float switch in base to drain water and since then back to square one with nothing working again!

Check the door seal below the milk bottle holder. Spilt milk can get behind the lip of the seal and smells quickly develop. 😕

Is the ice evenly spread across the back wall or is it a big lump somewhere?
