Have had this a few times – if it is not the interlock then I’m afraid it’s the PCB

Don’t quite get where you’re coming from on this one – surely you dont pay £20 + for carbon brushes – so how is this increase going to price the independants out of the market? Connet price is £3.88 for 1600474 brushes.

Used to get a lot of Indesits doing this – wash blades going around very slowly – was always the motor

    Re: Hotpoint fridge freezer FF187E

You need the defrost heater kit – c00259475 – this has an extended heater to make sure that the block of ice does not form again. – take panel off inside rear of freezer compartment and check if there is a large block of ice hanging from bottom of evaporator – if so then this kit will sort it.

    Re: Hotpoint Possible turmoil?

You obviously have never had to deal with a Hotpoint supervisor – I have seen good engineers hounded out of jobs just because their supervisor didn’t like them or because at the end of the day he was a bully who had to get his own way – ask dozens of Hotpoint engineers they will tell you the same story – although granted by the law of averages there must be some decent supervisors out there,it’s just that I have never met one.

Can only hope that the tossers (supervisors) get what they deserve – should have happened years ago
