Repaired one of these today – same fault – door microswitch at fault – this machine is an old indesit design – part number for switch is c0041194- Remember to unplug it first.

Re: wd12x uk eprom, module help!

Basically its a micro chip with the model number and relevant programmes on it – you will have to order one and fit it in the receptacle on the module

Does not matter that you haven’t registered warranty – as long as you have the receipt. -It wont work on wash only as fault will still be detected by module – call out hotpoint and make them suffer.

    Re: pat test

The point I was trying to make was that you can’t criticise other peoples work (especially if they have not done anything wrong) if you don’t know the regs.

    Re: pat test

45p for a plug is not the point – if you are doing pat testing you’ve got to know the job.

Re: Ariston KLS9NUK dishwasher door floppy

Sorry mate – springs or wires have come off hinges – machine will have to come out to repair as sides have to be sprung to get access to hinges – may be poss to pull forward about halfway and just remove screws down front edges to gain access

    Re: pat test

plugs with unsleeved pins are not an automatic fail. The legislation is not retrospective and therefore if the plug is otherwise sound, i.e no cracks then it is legal but it could not be transferred to a new mains lead or another appliance as this would contravene the regs – I have just done the C&G 2377 pat testing course and this was one of the questions raised

    Re: mis selling

Get your facts right this machine was made in Britain in the Hotpoint factory only part that is truly Indesit is the PCB – Indesit is just the parent company – poor build quality & design is down to previous Hotpoint management

It’s illegal as you are not qualified to diagnose any gas faults which may be present on appliance – better call in a qaulified engineer just to be safe.

    lights 1+2 = F12
modules not communicating – check & refit all module conns if this does not fix fault – both pcb’s will have to be replaced plus eeprom. sometimes just pulling connections off & then refitting will cure it – remember to unplug first
