Re: hotpoint intergrated bwd 20…wont drain

    cheers for replies guys…
i have checked all hoses 3 times..had sump hose of at the tub…looked at flap valve.pulled heater out to have a look into tub..pushed outlet onto tap and turned on..pushed nut -bolts down outlet hose…
this is so weird…when it doesnt drain, if you loosen filter water will come out. so its not as if no water getting down to filter…ive got a hunch that their may be a bit of the filter missing, ie the bit that you screw out…
had this once before on a whirlpool and thats what it was…
any one got apicture of what the filter should look like ???
    cheers ..

Re: hotpoint intergrated bwd 20…wont drain

i was begining to think that way martin…
the only thing that stopped me checking was that if i blew into o/let hose putting air into w/m…it would then drain…must be getting 240 ?
but i think thats what im going to check next..
    ps who makes this thing….

    Re: A Warning

buy a volt stick..and get into the habit of testing the any wires that your are going to be working with…not full proof , but better than nothing..
british gas engineer killed last year, working on an old servis w/m…
same situ…plug in cupboard…next to dishwasher plug …you know the rest

thanks for starting this post..as it highlights just how easy a life can be taken…we all get complacent, and i dont think there is a trade member who can say they have never had a shock big or small…

once again thanks for reminding us of the dangers we all know is there,
but tend to put to the back of our minds whilst going about our busy lifes…

ps …cant we all get together and make a guide for ukw members on electrical safety, i was privaliged to have received very good training from brit/gas, and would gladly pass on anything to avoid putting ukw members at risk.

    pps sorry for heavy post…ally…

Re: Proline TDC7A condenser drier bearing conversion

    done a few lately..
merloni freind said dont bother with kit…
remove wheels and fit bearing pads x 4..have done a few and works ok,
good tip …loosen belt pulley when doing job, this gives you a bit of play whilst offering drum back up to bearing pads…bit of a pain to loosen pulley , but worth it…
total bomb-scare of a dryer…just pray it all goes back together..
