Re: Starting up an Appliance repair business

here my 2pence worth ….. run run i tell you and never look back ..
    sorry couldnt resist ,

marketing is probably 50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of any business now , it can feel like money down the drain – make sure you do it wisely ,

if you want to get a quick customer base then you will need to spend or be good at free marketing

use all the free stuff as mentioned google maps , yell , free index , yelp – free index is my favorite – make sure you fill in all details use the upload a photo spaces ( take some pics of your van signs etc

the free stuff is time consuming but worth spending a couple of days filling in all the boxes and getting them right –

i wouldnt wait until end of summer do it now as they can take time to filter into google world.

leaflets into local houses – make sure you leave some when you do a repair with an offer ie 10{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of next ,

possible local adds in local papers ?

and yes a nice web site and some seo to make sure it gets noticed

    cheers ally

    Re: work dead

if your looking to attract new customers make sure your on

1 google maps free of charge

2 freeindex this site comes up normaly page 1 google -especialy if you can get a few reviews

3 qype free . again page 1 google

there are loads of free directories you can gt yourself into , there are some like problem solved about £100. but if you are not busy i would be spending time getting myself on these free sites ..all very easy to do ,

make sure you type the same business name and address – tel number in all listing as google spiders do crawl these site to look for differences in names address etc, may seem trivial but it makes a huge difference..

i dont mind pimping your google maps up , but you would 1st need to create a google maps account , and pm if you want me to do one..

if you waiting for old mrs jones hotpoint brushs to weardown – spend some time getting yourself noticed ..

start to claw some cash back from the nationals by getting yourself on page 1 google by spending half a day listing yourself on every free index site you can find , dont forget bt directory , and yes yellow pages free list

guys all i can say is spend some time doing this and you will pick new work – may take a month or 2 to take effect but it will …

go forth and multiply – dont know who said this but hey its the correct quote …

    Re: HOTPOINT

yip its getting really load , my boy even hears it in his room wearing headphones listening to really load music ,

i find emusing really that we get harassed all day by call centers chasing up parts etc ,and we have to wait 3 weeks plus for a repair from a manufacture who really should have stock parts.

im hoping hes got a drum shaft as van stock as its was cleary obvious that both were away at 1st visit.
