Re: Working on Dual fuel range cooker – Gas Safe registered?

when i worked for Scottish gas i spoke to gas safe inspectors a few times , their take on this is – yes if something happened then you take your chance in front of a jury – they would if asked to comment on the regs ie a non gas safe engineer is allowed to work on dual fuel . whether they this is the current case – who knows ..

i personally wouldnt get involved in changing thermocouples etc , but dont have a prob with fan elements , tocs etc ..

Re: Working on Dual fuel range cooker – Gas Safe registered?

if there any connect agents on here they have recently published a memo on this . named by gas safe as tech bulletin 043 , it states where an electrical contractor is installing or maintaining electrical components of a gas system eg solenoid valves pumps switches etc , provided this work does not involve discconnection of a gas fitting ie breaking into a gas path or combustion system registration with gas safety register is not necessary.

maybe the full tech bulletin could be re produced with permission from connect

ultimately if something does go wrong and you are standing in front of a jury who a clueless to the finer workings of dual fuel – they will deem you as the last person to touch the appliance.

    nice action hero martin

    name not so good

    is it a plane ………no
    is it a bird ……….no

    itssssssssss supercurryman

    sounds a bit naff …….

    its surley got to be

    KNOWHOWMAN

customers expectations will go through the roof when KNOWHOWMAN AND
INSTALLMAN , turn up in that big truck ,

my guess is they will defo expect a repair as their will be loads of spares in the truck – and failing that they must have a new machine or 2 in their , wooohoooo

all we need now is a giant object on the roof …

    Re: DSG/RepairCare Rate Cuts

taken from advert , what planet or they on

    Core Purpose:
To deliver, install, integrate and repair domestic appliance products in customer’s homes. Providing excellent technical services to our customers, whilst operating within a safe working environment and following company best practice

    Accountability and Impact:
The In-Home White Goods Engineer is responsible and accountable for the safe delivery, installation, integration and repair of customer products whilst delivering a high level of customer service:

deliver / install and repair yeh right

Maintaining contact with customers during the day keeping them up to date with excepted arrival times what ?

    • Engaging the customer in their home, keeping them informed and updated while repairing, installing or integrating their product yeh i can see this happening

Maintaining contact with the customer service centre, ensuring daily developments are recorded
Debriefing line managers with concerns, security and health and safety issues

in-between balancing a washing machine in one hand , repairing a cooker with the other – phone wedged between you shoulder and ear – talking in a calm manner to customer trying to explain why the plastic feet have just snapped of the bottom of their Chinese appliance you also have the joy of keeping some egotistic line manager who has been of the tools since duran duran had no1 hits

seriously what planet are these people form – and there more below ..

i see there been a lot thought put into this

    • Due care of customer and company property
    • Seeking guidance for issues that directly impact on cost, customer service, or Company policy. Liaison with manufacturers at point of delivery where necessary
    • Manage and maintain product spares in-line with company best practice
    • Feedback to technical, repair and installation audit group

i can see all this happening …. yeh honestly i can

    i really can you know

    no seriously i can

    lol
